Install the Sync Unit in the master cabinet as described in Steps 1 and 2 under “Installation for a Single Tl.” Install a Tl MDF card in each cabinet. (See Step 3 on page 4-23.) Set Switch 1 on the Tl cards. (See Step 4 on page 4-24.) Install a Tl card in each “EC/TRK” slot. Connect the Clock Sync Cable from CN4 on the master-cabinet Tl to CN5 on the slave-cabinet Tl, as shown in Figure 4-12. Note: Part Number VB-43564 is used for the Clock Sync Cable when Tls are installed in the master and slave cabinets. At the master cabinet, connect the Sync Cable from CNl on the Sync Unit to CN5 on the Tl card (Figure 4-12). At each cabinet, connect the cable attached to CN3 on the Tl MDF card to CN3 on the Tl card (Figure 4-10). Using an RJ48 cable, connect CNl of each Tl MDF card to a CSU. (See Figure 4-9 on page 4-25 for RJ48 pinouts.) For both cabinets, connect the ground cable from the Tl MDF card as shown in Figure 4-10 on page 4-26. DBS-70-300DES Manual - Issued 8/l/954-29

Section 300~InstallationChapter 4. Trunks and Lines Lines Extension Connectors The number of extension ports that can be connected to your system depends on the type of system you have. Egure 4-13 shows the maximum number of extensions that can be connected to each system when the extension expansion connector is used. Table 4-l summarizes the number of ports that can be used without the extension expansion connector. Chapter.6 includes extension maximums for two-cabinet systems. mre 4-13. Section 300~InstallationChapter 4. Trunks and Lines Analog Extensions Note: Normally analog extensions are supported using the AEC (VB-4362 1). Alternatively, a Single Line Telephone Adaptor (SLTA, VB-43709) may be used to support analog DTMF (2500 set) extensions. The SLTA converts up to 4 digital ports to analog ports. See “Single Line Telephone Adaptor” on page 5-34 for more information. Guidelines lAn MFR card (VB-43431) is required when the AEC is used. The MFR card, which provides DTMF signals, includes eight circuits that are shared among the analog extensions. lThe AEC also requires the SLT ringer.box (VB-2089P). Installation 1.Install the AEC cards in extension slots. 2.Install the MFR card in AUXl or AUX2. If installing in a two-cabinet system, see Chapter 6 for specific information for installing MFR card(s). 3.Install the SLT Ringer Box as shown in Figure 4-14. Be sure to note the differences between the DBS 40 Connector Panel and the Connector Panel on the DBS 72 and 96.DBS-70-300DBS Manual - Issued 8/l/954-37
