    Check Software Release Letter
    1. Check the Software Release Letter that ac c omp anies the Release 8
removab le media. This letter c ontains the rec ommend ed up g rade
    proc edures. Always use the

    system.
    2. If the letter is not inc lud ed with the Release 8 removab le med ia, p erform
    the following procedures.
    Busyout Multimedia Interface Circuit Packs
Perform this step only if the system is hig h or c ritic al reliab ility and c ontains
MMCH c irc uit p ac ks. Multimed ia-to-voic e station c alls are
    not p reserved on an
up g rad e. Failure to b usy-out the TN787 Multimed ia Interfac e c irc uit p ac ks will
result in unusab le TN787 and TN788 Multimed ia Voic e Cond itioner p orts.
    1. Type display system-parameters customer-options
     and p ress
    En t e r. If
the MMCH op tion is set to y

translation information from memory to the translation c ard s.
    4. Chec k for translation errors before p roc eed ing with the up g rad e. If errors
are d etec ted , refer to ‘‘No Translations After Upgrade’’
     in Appendix B,
‘‘Troubleshooting an Upgrade’’ to c orrec t the p rob lem. Do not c ontinue
