    Restoring a Deleted Message
The Und elete Messag e feature allows sub sc rib ers to restore an inc oming
messag e that has just b een d eleted . Only the last messag e d eleted may b e
    restored .
This feature is availab le in the
inc oming mailb ox only. It may b e used at any time
d uring a manual or automatic sc an of inc oming messag es and /or head ers. It may
also b e used at the ac tivity menu if the sub sc rib er has just exited the
messag e-retrieval ac tivity. As long as the sub sc rib er d oes not enter another
voic e mailb ox ac tivity or p erform a c all transfer, the Und elete Message c ommand
restores the last messag e d eleted.
To restore a messag e, p ress . The system restores the last inc oming
messag e that was d eleted and returns the sub sc rib er to the p oint in the inc oming
mailb ox where that messag e’s head er orig inally ap p eared .
For example, a subscriber may delete a
new messag e, then c omp lete sc anning
all the other inc oming messag es. After returning to the ac tivity menu, either after
    sc anning the last
old messag e or b y pressing (Restart), he or she may
p ress to und elete the messag e. The sub sc rib er is returned to the
head er of the restored messag e in the
new messag e c ateg ory. The
messag e-waiting lamp , if availab le, lig hts to show that a new messag e now
exists. The sub sc rib er then c an save the messag e or c ontinue sc anning as
    desired.
The Und elete Messag e feature does
not work if the sub sc rib er:
nIs in the p roc ess of resp ond ing to a message
nIs in the mid d le of requesting a transfer out of the DEFINITY AUDIX system
nEnters any other valid ac tivity from the ac tivity menu other than p ressing
       (Help ) or (Restart)
Bec ause the Und elete feature works only in the inc oming mailb ox, it d oes
    not
restore any of the following if d eleted :
nMessag es in the outg oing mailb ox (inc lud ing file c ab inet messag es)
nPartial messag es d uring messag e c reation
    nPersonal g reeting s
As with other voic e mailb ox ac tivities, the Und elete Messag e feature c reates an
entry in the ac tivity log (if the log is enab led ). The traffic rep orts d o not ind ic ate
that a message has b een d eleted if it has b een restored .
