Log into the DEFINITY AUDIX system. 2. Press to ac c ess the Personal Greeting Ad ministration Menu. 3. Press to administer c all typ es. 4. Do one of the following: nPress to d isting uish b etween internal (in-house) and external (outsid e) c alls. These d istinc tions relate to where the caller is calling from. nPress to d isting uish b etween b usy and no answer c alls. These d istinc tions relate to whether you are on the telep hone or not at your desk. NOTE: The internal/external and b usy/no answer c all typ es are mutually exc lusive. It is not p ossib le to set the system to resp ond to both sets of situations. NOTE: To set up d ifferent g reeting s stric tly for p rime-time and out-of-hours calls, it is necessary initially to sp ecify internal/external or b usy/no answer c all typ es and the out-of-hours c all typ e. When the out-of-hours c all typ e is sp ec ified , the other c all typ es (b usy/no answer or internal/external) automatic ally ap p ly only to prime-time calls. nTo ap prove the internal/external or b usy/no answer setting without d isting uishing b etween p rime-time and out-of-hours c alls, p ress . Log into the DEFINITY AUDIX system. 2. Press to ac c ess the Personal Greeting Ad ministration Menu. 3. Press to rec ord a g reeting . 4. Id entify the p ersonal g reeting that you are ab out to rec ord by p ressing a numb er on the telep hone keyp ad (1 throug h 9). You c annot rec ord a system g reeting (g reeting 0). 5. Rec ord your g reeting at the tone. 6. Press to stop rec ord ing (this is an op tional step ). 7. Do none or any c omb ination of the following : nTo c ontinue rec ord ing , p ress . nTo d elete the g reeting, p ress . nTo playback the greeting, press . nTo ap prove the g reeting , p ress . If the g reeting is ac tive, you are returned to the Personal Greeting Ad ministration Menu. If the g reeting is not ac tive, g o on to step 8. 8. Listen to the system p romp ts and selec t the ap p rop riate c all typ es for this g reeting (0 throug h 3). The p romp ts will vary d ep end ing on whic h c all types you have ad ministered . When you are finished , or if you d o not want to ac tivate the g reeting , p ress and you will b e returned to the Personal Greeting Ad ministration Menu. Modifying Personal Greetings After you have initially administered c all typ es, rec ord ed g reeting s, and ac tivated the g reeting s, you c an make c hang es to them at any time. All sub sc rib ers are p rovid ed with the ab ility to c hang e the distinc tions the system makes b etween c all typ es. Activating Other Existing Personal Greetings Ac tivating a g reeting simp ly involves telling the system the c all typ es for whic h the g reeting should b e used. Up to three c all typ es (internal/external/out-of-hours or b usy/no answer/out-of-hours) c an b e ac tive at any one time. When you ac tivate a g reeting , the system p resents op tions ac c ord ing to the c all typ es you have ad ministered . *D # 1 1 1 *D 23 #

Press to ac c ess the Personal Greeting Ad ministration Menu. 3. Press to ac tivate g reeting s. 4. Do one of the following: nId entify the p ersonal g reeting that you want to ac tivate b y p ressing a numb er on the telep hone keyp ad (0 throug h 9). Note that 0 is the stand ard system g reeting . If you enter a numb er for a g reeting not yet rec ord ed , the system will say it is not rec ord ed and ask you to enter another numb er. After you selec t a numb er, p roc eed to step 5. nWhen finished ac tivating g reetings, p ress and you will b e returned to the Personal Greeting Ad ministration Menu. 5. Do one of the following: nTo use this g reeting for eac h of your d efined c all typ es (all c alls), p ress and return to step 4. nTo use this g reeting for internal (or b usy) c alls, p ress and return to step 4. If you selec ted internal/external when ad ministering c all types, this greeting will b e used for internal c alls. If you selec ted internal/external when ad ministering c all typ es, this g reeting will b e used for external c alls. If you selec ted b usy/no answer when ad ministering c all typ es, this g reeting will b e used for no answer c alls. nIf you selec ted out-of-hours when ad ministering c all typ es, and want to use the g reeting for out-of-hours c alls, p ress and return to step 4. NOTE: To set up d ifferent g reeting s stric tly for p rime-time and out-of-hours c alls, it is nec essary to assig n the same g reeting to the two prime-time c all typ es (internal and external or busy and no answer). nTo approve all current settings for this greeting, press and return to step 4. Scanning and Listening to Personal Greetings The MPG feature inc lud es two utility op tions for keep ing trac k of g reeting s. The op tions allow you to listen to sp ec ific g reetings, or sc an the status of all g reeting s. Both p rovid e further op tions for d eleting or rerec ord ing the greeting .
