10-3 2 Optional Units Ring Generator Unit (RGU) The RGU provides the ring voltages to the SLIB circuits to ring the SLTs. Al so, t he RGU pr ovi des t he inp ut to the Me ssa ge Wai t sour ce on t he SLI B s. The o u t pu t o f th e R GU is 9 0V A C, 20 Hz o r 2 5Hz . The re ar e t wo (2 ) ve rsions of the RGU, inte rna l a nd e xternal. T he internal RGU can s upport up to two (2) SLIB boards. For 3 or more SLIBs, the external RGU must be used. Wiring/Pinouts/Connections--TheRGUismountedinsideofthe BKSU and connect via a wiring harness. Figure 10-27: RGU (Ring Generator Unit)
Opt ion al Un it s 10-33 Mo dem U ni t (M O D U ) The MODU p rovides a n as ynchronous modem for access to th e s ystem database and fault reporting features from a remote site. The Module is optiona lly installed on the MPB a nd incorpora tes a 2400 Baud modem. The mod em may b e co nnec t ed to a p re -s el ec t ed CO Li ne thr ough the sys te m swi t ching mat ri x. T he l ocal por t m ay be conne cte d t o any C O L ine via a n ex te rna l modem or to a te rminal.
