    !WARNING:
Imp ortant Safety Instruc tions follow.
When operating this equipment, basic safety precautions must be followed to
reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury, including the following:
    nRead and understand all instructions.
nDo not attach the power supply cord to building surfaces.
nFor continued back-up protection and battery reliability, replace batteries
    every 4 years.
nFollow all warnings and instructions marked on the products.
nClean products only with a dry rag.
nDo not use this product near water.
nFor mounting security, follow all installation instructions when mounting
    product.
nOpenings on top and bottom of power unit are provided for ventilation. Do
not block or cover these openings. Do not exceed recommended
    environmental temperatures.
nOperate these products only from the type of power source indicated on
    the product labels.
nThe power unit is equipped with a 3 wire grounding type plug; a plug having
a third (grounding) pin. This plug will only fit into a grounding type power
outlet. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug into the
outlet, contact an electrician to replace the outlet. Do not defeat the safety
purpose of the grounding type plug.
nDo not allow anything to rest on or spill into the products.
nTo reduce risk of fire and electrical shock, do not overload power outlets.
nNever push objects of any kind through the power supply or distribution unit
slots as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short out parts that
could result in a risk of fire or electrical shock.

nTo reduce risk of electric shock, do not disassemble these products. Return
them for repair when needed. Opening or removing covers may expose
you to dangerous voltages or other risks. Incorrect reassembly can cause
electric shock when the products are subsequently used.
nPower down the power unit (see label on power unit on how to do this) and
refer servicing under the following conditions:
    — If liq uid has b een sp illed into any of the p roduc ts.
    — If any of the p rod uc ts have b een exp osed to water.
    — If any of the p rod uc ts d o not op erate normally.
    — If any of the products have been dropped or damaged.
    — If any of the p rod uc ts exhib its a c hang e in p erformanc e.
nDo not attempt to recharge batteries on your own. The batteries may leak
corrosive electrolyte or explode. The 1145B power unit recharges the
    batteries safely.
nRemove the batteries if the power unit will not be used for a long period of
time (several months or more) since during this time the battery may leak.
nDiscard discharged batteries as soon as possible. Discharged batteries are
    more likely to leak.
nDo not store batteries in high temperature areas. Batteries stored in a cold
environment should be protected from condensation during storage and
warming. Batteries should be stabilized at room temperature prior to use
after cold storage. Do not install batteries if the manufacturing date on the
label indicates that the batteries are more than 6 months old.
