After the system reb oot is finished and all troub le is c leared , verify that the EMERGENCY TRANSFER CONTROL switc h is set to AUTO. This restores the system to the normal mod e. Enter Added Translations Administer forms listed under “DS1 Tie Trunk Service” in DEFINITY Enterprise Communications Server Release 8 Administrator’s Guide . Save Translations 1. If the system is hig h or c ritic al reliab ility, typ e status system 1 and press En t e r to verify that the system is in the “ ac tive/standb y” mod e. 2. Type save translation and press En te r. This instruc ts the system to take all translation information in memory and write it to the translation c ard or removab le med ia. 3. If the PPN c ontains a TN750 Announc ement c irc uit p ac k, typ e list configuration software-version and p ress En t e r. If Pag e 2 of this form shows that rec orded announc ements were saved , these announc ements c an b e restored using the restore announc ements command. The circuit pack does not require administration. 1. Determine the p ort assig nment of the Sp eec h Synthesizer c irc uit p ac k to be added. 2. Install the Sp eec h Synthesizer c irc uit p ac k in the d esig nated c arrier slot. See Figure 5-19 for list of circuit packs. Add Code Calling Access The tones for the Code Calling feature are generated by the Tone-Clock circuit packs in the port networks. 1. Install a TN763B/C/D (or TN417) Auxiliary Trunk c irc uit p ac k or a Sp eec h Synthesizer c irc uit p ac k and c onnec t for Loud sp eaker Pag ing . The Cod e Calling Ac c ess feature shares the same p orts as Loud sp eaker Pag ing . An Auxiliary Trunk c irc uit p ac k p rovid es 4 p orts for Loud sp eaker Pag ing and Cod e Calling Ac c ess. 2. Ad minister the form listed und er “ Cod e Calling Ac c ess” in DEFINITY Enterp rise Communic ations Server Release 8 Ad ministrator’s Guid e. init login administration: 1. Log in as init . 2. Type change system-parameters customer-options and press En te r to verify that the c ustomer op tions are p roperly set. 3. Go to sc reen 6, QSIG Op tional Features, and set the Basic Call Setup field to y if the customer was using Supplementary Services Protoc ol b or d on an ISDN-PRI trunk g roup b efore the up g rad e. 4. Type change system-parameters offer-options and p ress En te r. 5. If the Activate Offer field is n , set it to y and press Ta b. A warning messag e lets you know whether you need to save translations and reb oot to make the c hang e p ermanent. 6. The integrated type requires a TN758 Pooled Modem circuit pack for each 2 conversion resources provided. The combined type requires a port on a TN754B Digital Line circuit pack and a port on either an 8-port TN742, TN769; a 16-port TN746B; or a 24-port TN793/B, TN2793/B Analog Line circuit pack for each conversion resource provided. The pooled modem requires a Lucent WP90110 L7 power supply. Although an integrated conversion resource can use either the L5 or L7, the combined only works with an L7. !CAUTION: The L5 and L7 p ower supp lies look id entic al. Chec k the list numb er on the power supply before installing. 1. Determine the p ort assig nment of the c irc uit p ac ks to b e ad d ed (if req uired ). 2. Install the ap p rop riate c irc uit pac ks in assigned c arrier slot (if req uired ). 3. For Paradyne 3800 Series mod ems: a. Type AT&F&D2&S4\D3S2=128x7V2S7=60S85=1 and p ress En te r. b. Type ATY0S10=100S78=2M0E0\N1&W and p ress En t e r. 4.For other typ es of mod ems, refer to the vend or’s d oc umentation. Settings for Modem Connected to Data Module 1. Type add data-module next and press En t e r. 2. Type pdm in the Type field . 3. Type x in the Port field. 4. Type dte in the Connected to field and press En te r. 5. Type add station next and press En t e r. 6. Type 2500 in the Type field. 7. Type x in the Port field. 8. Type n in the Tests field and p ress En te r. 9. Connec t an RS-232 c ab le to the modem. See Fig ure 5-33. NOTE: In the following step s, a PC with Wind ows 95 or Wind ows NT 4.0 may b e sub stituted for the d umb terminal. Use the Hyp erterminal (terminal emulation) ap p lic ation. 2. Connec t the op p osite end of the RS-232 c ab le to a d umb terminal. 3. Set the d umb terminal to full d up lex mod e. 4. Type AT&N6 to set the baud rate to 9600. NOTE: The mod em c onnec ts at 9600 b aud b ut throug hp ut is at 1200 b aud . 5. Type AT & W 0 to save the setting into non-volatile RAM. 6. Set Switc h 5 to the OFF (up ) p osition to disab le auto answer. 7. Disc onnec t the RS-232 c ab le from the terminal and c onnec t it to the TERMINAL c onnec tor on the rear of the system c ab inet.
