Specify the settings by using the following procedure as reference. You can specify the external server authentication settings according to the network environment that is to be used. 2 Note In the future, the operating system may be updated or a new operating system may be released. For details, refer to the manual of the operating system. Using Active Directory Before specifying the settings, prepare the information described below. Detail When “Active Directory” is selected under “External Server Authentica- tion”, specify a password with one character or more. If a password is not specified, authentication will fail. Do not use “ ” ”and “+” in the external server password. For details on the operating conditions of an external server, ask the network administrator. If “Password Rules” is enabled, a password with less than 8 characters cannot be registered. For details on the password rules, refer to User’s Guide [Copy Operations]. To perform user authentication by using an external server, touch [ON (External Server)], and then specify the server type. Up to 20 servers can be registered in “Active Directory”.
