    Detail 
    To check the registered destination, touch the button for the destination, 
    and then touch [Check Setting].
    To change the registered destination settings, touch the button for the 
    desired destination, and then touch [Edit].
    To delete the registered destination, touch the button for the desired des-
    tination, and then touch [Delete].

    To quit specifying the Utility mode setting, touch [Exit] in the sub display 
    area or press the [Utility/Counter] key. Otherwise, cancel the Utility mode

    SMB Destinations
    SMB destinations can be registered.
    1In the Scan screen, touch [1 Address Book]. (Refer to page 3-5 for 
    more details.)
    2Touch [3 SMB].
    The SMB screen appears.
    3Touch [New].
    The Register SMB screen appears.
    4Touch [Name] and type in the name using the keyboard that appears 
    on the screen.
    5Touch [OK].
    6Touch [Host Address] and enter the host address or IP address.
    – To enter the host address, touch [Host Name Input], and then type 
    in the host address using the keyboard that appears on the screen.

    – To enter the IP address, touch [IP Address Input], and then enter 
    the value. If the value was incorrectly entered, press the [C] (clear) 
    key to erase the value, and then use the keypad to type in the cor-
    rect value. To change an entered value, touch [←] and [→] to move 
    the cursor to the desired position, and then type in the desired val-
    ue.
    – If [IP Address Input] is touched after entering the host address, the 
    host address is cleared.
    – If the IP address is entered first, then [Host Name Input] is touched, 
    the IP address that was entered is displayed in the text box.
    – Enter the host name and file path using capital letters.
    7Touch [OK].
    8Touch [File Path] and type in the file path using the keyboard that ap-
    pears on the screen.
    9Touch [OK].
    10Touch [←Back] or [Fwd.→].
    11Touch [User ID] and type in the user ID using the keyboard that appears 
    on the screen.
    12Touch [OK].
    13Touch [Password] and type in the password using the keyboard that 
    appears on the screen.
    14Touch [OK].
    15Touch [Index] and touch the desired button.
    – This specifies the characters used to index the destination.
    – For destinations that are often used, specify [Main] at the same 
    time, and it will be easier to search.

    – If the first character of the name is a letter, the first character is au-
    tomatically registered as the indexing character.
    – The registration cannot be completed unless settings have been 
    specified for “Name”, “Host Address”, and “File Path”.
    16Touch [OK], and then touch [OK] in the next screen that appears.
    The SMB destination is registered.

    Box Destinations
    Box destinations can be registered. The Box destinations can be used when 
    the optional hard disk drive is installed.
    1In the Scan screen, touch [1 Address Book]. (Refer to page 3-5 for 
    more details.)
    2Touch [4 User Box].
    The User Box screen appears.
    3Touch [New].
    The Register User Box screen appears.
    4Touch [Name] and type in the name using the keyboard that appears 
    on the screen.
    5Touch [OK].
    6Touch [User Box Name] and select the box.
    7Touch [Index] and touch the desired button.
    – This specifies the characters used to index the destination.
    – For destinations that are often used, specify [Main] at the same 
    time, and it will be easier to search.

    3.4 Registering Group Destinations
    Group destinations can be registered.
    Up to 100 groups can be registered. Up to 500 destinations can be regis-
    tered to one group.
    To register a group destination
    1In the Scan screen, touch [2 Group]. (Refer to page 3-5 for more de-
    tails.)
    The Group screen appears.
    2Touch [New].
    The Register Group screen appears.
    3Touch [Name] and type in the name using the keyboard that appears 
    on the screen.
    4Touch [OK].
    5Touch [Destination].
    – Touch the desired button, and then select the destinations to be 
    registered.

    3.5 Registering Program Destinations
    Program destinations can be registered. Only one destination can be regis-
    tered in a program. Up to 400 destinations can be registered in program des-
    tinations, including fax program destinations. (If the optional hard disk drive 
    is not installed, up to 200 destinations can be registered.)
    To register a program destination
    1In the Scan screen, touch [3 Program]. (Refer to page 3-5 for more de-
    tails.)
    2Touch the button for the desired program number.
    3Touch [Edit].
    The Program Setting screen appears.
    4Touch [Name] and type in the name using the keyboard that appears 
    on the screen.
    5Touch [OK].

    6Touch [Destination].
    – To select from registered destinations: 
    Check that [Select from Address Book] is selected, touch the but-
    ton for the desired destination type, and then select the destina-
    tions to be registered.
    – To enter the destinations directly: 
    Touch [Direct Input], touch the button for the desired destination 
    type, and then enter the destination to be registered.
    7Touch [Close].
    – To register scan settings, touch [Yes] beside “Scan Setting”. For 
    details on the scan settings, refer to “Specifying the Scan Settings” 
    on page 2-43.
    – To register communication settings, touch [Yes] beside “Communi-
    cation Setting”. Specify the file name for saving the file and e-mail 
    notification settings.
    8Touch [OK].
    The program destination is registered.
