    (1) USING 25 PAIR CABLES WITH MALE CONNECTORS ON ONE END, CONNECT FIVE CABLES TO THE 
    FOLLOWING RECEPTACLES: CN 0, CN 1, CN 10, CN 11, CN 12. 
    (2) RUN CABLES NEATLY FROM THE OMNI SBCS CABINET USING SCREWS TO FASTEN THE 
    CONNECTORS TIGHTLY TO THE RECEPTACLES. CONNECT EACH CABLE TO THE CDF BLOCK 
    DESIGNATED BELOW: 
    (A) CN 0 - FIRST STATION CDF BLOCK 
    (B) CN 1 - SECOND STATION CDF BLOCK 
    (C) CN 10 - FIRST STATION CDF BLOCK 
    (D) CN 11 - SECOND STATION CDF BLOCK 
    (E) CM 12 - POWER FAIL TRANSFER CDF BLOCK 
    (3) ENSURE THAT CDF BLOCKS ARE MOUNTED TO THE WALL. MARK EACH CABLE FOR EASY 
    IDENTIFICATION.

    TIE LINES WILL BE USED TO ACCESS OTHER OMNI SBCS LA5 SYSTEMS. INSTRUCTOR 
    WILL PROVIDE INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING CONNECTIONS.

    (9) ENSURE THAT BOTH OMNI SBCS AND PMP POWER SWITCHES ARE OFF. 
    (10) INSTALL FLOPPY DISKETTE UNIT TO PMP USING PROCEDURE FOUND IN THE STUDENT 
    WORKBOOK. DO NOT POWER ON THE PMP OR FLOPPY DISKETTE DRIVE UNIT UNTIL 
    INSTRUCTED TO DO SO DURING THE INITIALIZATION LAB ACTIVITY. 
    (11) CONNECT SMDR PRINTER CABLE TO PORT CN14 (I/O 1) ON THE SBCS CABINET. INSTRUCTOR 
    WILL PROVIDE SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS RELATING TO TYPE OF PRINTER BEING INSTALLED. 
    PORT CONFIGURATION REQUIREMENTS WILL BE DISCUSSED DURING THE DATA BASE 
    ADMINISTRATION MODULE OF THIS COURSE. DO NOT POWER ON SMDR PRINTER UNTIL 
    DIRECTED TO DO SO. 
    LAB MILESTONE: 
    l VERIFY THAT PORTABLE MAINTENANCE PANEL, FLOPPY DISKETTE DRIVE, AND SMDR 
    PRINTER ARE CORRECTLY INSTALLED.
