    							Laboratory Activity (1.2) -
PERFORM THE INSTALLATION TASKS IN THE SEQUENCE OUTLINED BELOW, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
GTE OMNI SBCS GTEP MANUAL. COMPLETE THE REVIEW EXERCISE QUESTIONS PERTAINING TO CABINET
INSTALLATION UPON COMPLETION OF THIS LABORATORY ACTIVITY.
    (1) MOUNT CABINET AND POWER SUPPLY TO MOUNTING BRACKET.
    (A) REFER TO GTEP MANUAL OR STUDENT WORKBOOK FOR MOUNTING BRACKET REQUIREMENTS.
    (B) MOUNT THE BRACKET TO A SOLID SURFACE OR TO A STUD IN THE WALL. USE 24” CENTERS.
    (C) ENSURE THAT MOUNTING BRACKET IS LEVEL.
    (D) MOUNT THE POWER SUPPLY MOUNTING BRACKET TO LEFT OF SYSTEM CABINET.
    (2) WIRE SYSTEM GROUNDING.
    (A) REFER TO GTEP MANUAL OR STUDENT WORKBOOK FOR CORRECT GROUNDING PROCEDURES.
    (B) GROUND THE SYSTEM USING #6 AWG WIRING.
    (C) ENSURE THAT THE FRAME GROUND IS CONNECTED TO THE POWER SUPPLY AND TO AN
    APPROVED GROUND POINT.
    (D) ENSURE THAT THE SYSTEM GROUND IS CONNECTED TO THE CORRECT POINT ON THE CABINET
AND FROM THERE TO AN APPROVED EARTH GROUND.
    (3) CO-NNECT POWER SUPPLY CABLE TO THE POWER SUPPLY ONLY. DO NOT CONNECT CABLE TO
SYSTEM CABINET UNTIL INSTRUCTED TO POWER ON THE SYSTEM AT A LATER TIME.
    LAB MILESTONE:
VERIFY THAT MOUNTING BRACKET, CABINET, AND POWER SUPPLY ARE INSTALLED
CORRECTLY. THE SYSTEM SHOULD BE GROUNDED AND THE POWER SUPPLY CABLE
SHOULD BE HANGING FROM THE POWER SUPPLY.
    ASK INSTRUCTOR TO INSPECT INSTALLATION.
