You c an c hang e these d ates to any d ates in a seven-d ay p eriod for whic h hourly system traffic d ata exists on the PC. nHours Disp layed are the hours for whic h data exists on the PC d uring the rang e of d ays rep resented b y the d efault starting and end ing d ates. Peak Port Usage Report This rep ort d isp lays the p eak p ort usag e for eac h hour in a selec ted rang e of hours d uring a selec ted rang e of d ates for a maximum of seven d ays. You must first retrieve Hourly System Traffic Data for the sp ec ified d ates on this rep ort, using PC2AUDIX. Peak port usage tells you the maximum number of ports that were used during a p artic ular hour. If your system is c onfigured p rop erly for your ac tual usag e, the system should p eak at the maximum numb er of p orts oc c asionally. If you never reac h the maximum, you may b e ab le to ad d more sub sc rib ers without worrying ab out p orts. The following is an examp le of the Peak Port Usag e Rep ort in tab le format: F8

You must first retrieve Hourly System Traffic Data for this rep ort for the sp ec ified d ate, using PC2AUDIX. This rep ort shows you how your sub sc rib ers use messag e sp ac e d uring the d ay. For examp le, you may see the used sp ac e inc reasing in the morning when emp loyees are in meeting s, then d ec rease at lunc htime when messag es are p ic ked up and d eleted , inc rease again in the afternoon, and d ec rease ag ain at the end of the d ay. AUDIX Administration and Data Acquisition Package 585-302-502 Issue 14 May 1999 PC2AUDIX Traffic Reports 5-10 Daily File System Usage Report 5 Daily File System Usage Report This rep ort d isp lays the total numb er of b loc ks of voic e text sp ac e used and availab le for eac h d ay in a rang e of d ays (up to 50 d ays). You must first retrieve Daily System Traffic Data for this rep ort for the sp ec ified d ates, using PC2AUDIX. This rep ort shows you how your system’s messag e sp ac e is b eing used . When a system is first installed , the trend is up ward (filesystem usage keep s inc reasing ). Also, when you add new sub sc rib ers, normally you see an up ward trend . If, onc e your system is stab le, you still see an up ward trend , try to estimate when you may need more messag e sp ac e. Analyzing filesystem sp ac e also lets you know when you c an add more sub sc rib ers without d eg rad ing system performanc e (rememb er to c hec k your averag e p ort usag e as well). If your d isk(s) are fully alloc ated , you should p rint this rep ort often to see if you need to ord er a new d isk. (The DEFINITY AUDIX system ac c ommod ates only one d isk, b ut you may need to ord er a larg er d isk.) Rememb er, it takes a few weeks to p lac e the ord er and g et the new d isk, so this rep ort help s you to antic ip ate when you mig ht need to inc rease your c ap ac ity. You must first retrieve Daily System Traffic Data for the sp ec ified d ates on this rep ort, using PC2AUDIX. This rep ort shows you how your sub sc rib ers are using the voic e mail and c all answer features: nAre sub sc rib ers rec ord ing voic e mail messag es? If not, should you set up a c lass to teac h them the b enefits of using voic e mail? nFor the numb er of c all answer c alls, how many messag es are left? Fifty p erc ent is an ind ustry averag e. If the number is very low, is there a reason? Perhap s p ersonal g reeting s are not friend ly enoug h, or fail to invite the c aller to leave a messag e. Perhap s sub sc rib ers use a c overing extension. nAre the numb er of voic e mail messag es keep ing up with the number of c all answer messag es? This is one ind ic ation of how resp onsive your sub sc rib ers are. The following is an examp le of the Session Usage Traffic Rep ort in tab le format:

Traffic Data Reports The PC2AUDIX View AUDIX Traffic Data option allows you to d isp lay download ed system and sub sc rib er traffic d ata in rep ort formats that are similar to the voic e mail traffic forms d isp layed on the ad ministration terminal. Grap hic al output via the Stella Business Graphics pac kage is not available for these reports. This section describes how to display and manipulate AUDIX Traffic Data reports with PC2AUDIX.
