You c an also use this op tion (c omb ined with the billing p ac kag e) to find your heaviest users, to find out who uses the voic e mail feature, and for other searc h p urp oses. The following is an examp le of the PC2AUDIX outp ut for sub sc rib ers with b ills over a sp ec ified amount. PC2AUDIX g enerates a list of all sub sc rib ers with b ills over the sp ec ified total. The d efault sp ec ific ations are set to searc h for sub sc rib ers with less than five ac c esses d uring the last month for whic h you have traffic d ata on this PC. This allows you to id entify those sub sc rib ers who are not ac tive users of the voic e mail system. By c hang ing LESS to MORE, you c an reverse the sense of the searc h and loc ate users who use the voic e mail system heavily. Note that this d ata is only as c urrent as the last traffic d ata retrieved from the voic e mail system. Scheduling PC2AUDIX Data Retrieval 8-1 Overview 8 AUDIX Administration and Data Acquisition Package 585-302-502 Issue 14 May 1999 8 Scheduling PC2AUDIX Data Retrieval Overview With the PC2AUDIX sc hed uling op tion, you c an estab lish a sc hed ule for regularly retrieving ap p rop riate system and sub sc rib er traffic d ata, error and alarm log d ata, p erformanc e statistic s, and rep orted maintenanc e events (DEFINITY AUDIX system only). You also c an sc hed ule sub sc rib er d atab ase verific ation. Ad d itionally, if the op tional Call Detail Rec ord ing (CDR) p ac kag e is installed , you c an sc hed ule CDR data retrieval for the AUDIX system. (The Call Detail Recording pac kage is not available with the DEFINITY AUDIX system.) You c an sc hed ule up to 100 events to oc c ur on an hourly, d aily, bi-weekly, weekly, b i-monthly, or monthly b asis. Ad d itionally, for AUDIX networks, a sing le PC2AUDIX sc hed ule c an ac c ommod ate d ata verific ation and retrieval from all loc al and remote AUDIX systems in the network. You initiate and c ontrol sc hed uling from the PC2AUDIX Root Menu using the Sc hedule Ed itor (5). This op tion d isp lays a sc hed uling menu, whic h in turn p rovid es op tions for entering, d isp laying , and ed iting events; p rovid ing retrieval instruc tions for sp ec ific events; and d isp laying the event log of p ast sc hed uled ac tivities. Onc e you have sc hed uled events, you must p lac e the PC in sc hed uling mode (op tion 0 on the PC2AUDIX Root Menu) d uring the time that events are sc hed uled to oc c ur. At the sc hed uled time, the PC c alls the voic e mail system to initiate the sc hed uled ac tivity.

Enter the following information on the Ad d Sc hed ule Entry sc reen: nMac hine The name of the work d irec tory you c reated for a partic ular voic e mail system. The Mac hine name may b e a maximum of 10 characters. nDay The d ay for whic h to sc hed ule the event. Valid entries are as follows: — A three-c harac ter abb reviation for the d ay of the week (sun, mon, tue, wed , thu, fri, sat, or all). — A one- or two-d ig it numb er (1 to 31) rep resenting the day of the month to sc hedule the event. —hr. This op tion is only valid for ac tivity typ es on the R1 AUDIX system (see Ta b l e 8 - 1 , Valid Ac tivity Typ es). When you enter hr in the Day field, PC2AUDIX retrieves p erformanc e statistic s every d ay on an hourly b asis from the b eg inning of the sc heduled event until the designated stop collec tion hour. Alternatively, if you enter a d ay or numb er in the Day field for p erformanc e statistic s, PC2AUDIX c ollec ts data just onc e eac h time the event is sc hed uled . (In this c ase, the d esig nated stop c ollec tion hour d efines the interval if statistic s c annot b e c ollec ted at the sc hed uled time, and any value in the Interval field is ig nored .) nTi m e The time of d ay the transmission is sc hed uled to b eg in, sp ec ified as hh:mm, where hh is the hour (00 to 23) and mm is the minute (00 to 59). nInterval The amount of time after the sc hed uled starting time in whic h the transmission must b eg in, sp ec ified as hh:mm, where hh is the hour (00 to 23) and mm is the minute (00 to 59). If the transmission has not b eg un within this interval, the event is skipp ed . For examp le, if an event is sc hed uled to b eg in at 02:00 and the interval is 05:00, the event is skip p ed if it has not started b y 07:00. If an interval of 00:00 is sp ec ified , only the standard numb er of retries (three) to estab lish a c onnec tion are mad e.
