    History Reports
    This c hapter d esc rib es the History (rec ent c hang es) and  Ac c ess Sec urity 
    Gateway Session History rep orts.
    You c an view or p rint a History rep ort of the most rec ent ad ministration and  
    maintenanc e c hanges. The History rep ort also lists eac h time a user log s in or off 
    the system. This rep ort is used for d iag nostic , information, or sec urity p urp oses.
    The system maintains a log  in a software b uffer of the most recent ad ministration 
    and  maintenanc e c ommand s. This log  is c alled  the transac tion log . Command s 
    must b e d ata affec ting  and  suc c essfully entered  to save in the transac tion log . 
    The d ata-affec ting  c ommand s are c alled d ata c ommand s.
    The transac tion log  displays or p rints as the History rep ort when you enter the list 
    history 
    or list history print 
    c ommand  at the manag ement terminal or a remote 
    terminal. This rep ort c an b e g enerated  b y any log in with d isp lay ad ministration 
    and  maintenanc e-d ata p ermissions.
    You c an also view or p rint an Ac c ess Sec urity Gateway Session History rep ort of 
    all session estab lishment and  rejec tion events assoc iated  with users ac c essing  
    the system ad ministration and  maintenanc e interfac e throug h Ac c ess Sec urity 
    Gateway (ASG). This rep ort c ontains the last 500 session log  entries for the G3si 
    and  1250 session log  entries for the G3r.
    The Ac cess Security Gateway Session History rep ort d isp lays or p rints when you 
    enter the list asg-history
     or list asg-history [print/schedule] 
    c ommand . This 
    rep ort c an only b e g enerated  b y a log in with the sup er-user permissions.

    Data Commands
    With the exc ep tion of log in and  log off, only those ad ministration and  
    maintenanc e c ommand s that c hang e the d ata state assoc iated  with any ob jec t 
    and  q ualifier are maintained  in the transac tion log .
    For example, the list change station 3600 
    c ommand  c hang es the state of the 
    translation d ata and so is c lassified  as a d ata c ommand  and  entered  in the log . 
    However, the c ommand display
     station 3600 
    d oes not c hang e the state of the 
    translation d ata and is not entered  in the log .

    Field Description
    Date of Loaded 
    TranslationThe time and  d ate the translation is saved  on tap e. When a 
    translation is saved on tap e, b y entering  the save translation 
    c ommand , the time and  d ate of the save is log g ed  on the 
    tape. Whenever the system is c old started  or reb ooted , the 
    transac tion log is load ed  from the tap e and  the time and  d ate 
    are inc luded  on the History Rep ort, for examp le, “ 9:53 p m 
    Wed  Jul 13, 1994.
    DateThe d ate the d ata c ommand  is entered  (for example, 07/18).
    TimeThe time the d ata c ommand  is entered  (for examp le, 12:34).

    Session History Report
    The Ac cess Security Gateway Session History rep ort log s all session 
    estab lishment and  rejec tion events assoc iated  with users ac c essing the system 
    ad ministration and maintenanc e interfac e throug h Ac c ess Sec urity Gateway 
    (ASG). This rep ort emulates the d ata p rovid ed in the DEFINITY ECS History 
    rep ort, and  also c ontains information on whether the session was ac c epted  or 
    rejec ted  b y ASG, and  if rejec ted , the reason for the rejec tion.
    This rep ort is ac c essib le only if, on the System-Parameters Customer-Op tions 
    sc reen, the Ac c ess Sec urity Gateway (ASG) field  is set to y.
    Command

    Field Description
    DateIndic ates the d ate of the session estab lishment or rejec tion. 
    The d ate d isp lays in the mm/d d  format where mm =  month 
    and dd = day.
    TimeIndic ates the time of the session estab lishment or rejec tion. 
    The time d isp lays in the hh:mm format where hh =  hour and  
    mm =  minute.
    PortIndic ates the p ort mnemonic  assoc iated  with the p ort on 
    whic h the session was estab lished  or rejec ted . The p ort 
    m n e m o n i c s  f o r  G 3 r  s ys t e m s  a r e  SYSAM - L C L ,  SYSA M - RM T,  
    MAINT, and SYS-PORT. For G3si systems, they are MRG1, 
    INADS, NET, and EPN.
    LoginIndic ates the alphanumeric  log in string  entered  b y the user 
    and  assoc iated  with the session estab lishment or rejec tion.
    StatusIndic ates the c od e showing  whether the session was 
    established  or rejec ted and , if rejec ted , the reason for the 
    rejection. The following  is a list of the p ossib le status values:
    nAUTHENTICATED—User authentic ation and  session 
    estab lishment.
    nREJECT-BLOCK—User rejec ted  b ec ause the Bloc ked 
    field  assoc iated  with the log in ID is set to y
    .
    nREJ EC T- EXPI RE— U se r re j e c t e d  b e c a u se  a c c e s s 
    restric tion based  on the Exp iration Date c riteria d etec ted.
    nREJECT-INVALID—User rejected because the 
    user-sup p lied log in ID d id  not matc h any of the 
    ad ministered  log in IDs.
    nREJECT-RESPONSE—User rejec ted  b ec ause the 
    user-sup p lied resp onse to the system c halleng e not 
    valid .
