    Traffic Summary Report
The Traffic Summary Rep ort p rovid es an overview of system p erformanc e.
Summarized in the rep ort are p eak hour c all p roc essing and system
manag ement oc c up anc y, p eak hour b loc king for TDM time slots on eac h p ort
network, p eak hour b loc king for p ort network links and switc h node links, and the
p eak hour for the TDM time slots, p ort network links and switc h nod e links
c omb ined , p eak hour for the worst attend ant sp eed of servic e, and the p eak for
tod ay and yesterd ay for trunk b locking for the worst five trunk g roups.
Also inc lud ed are a series of traffic flag s and c ounters p rovided for the last hour
of measurement d ata. They inc lud e a time stamp for a major alarm, trunk g roup ,
wideband trunk group, coverage path, coverage principals, and routing-pattern
time stamp s for measurement selec tion mod ific ations.
There are, as well, for last hour, totals for Trunks Out of Servic e, CDR hig h water
mark and overflow, and total sec urity violations.
    NOTE:
Data in this report is not up d ated on d emand . It is g enerated every hour on
the hour and c an be used to id entify p rob lem areas in the system. More
d etailed d ata c an b e retrieved from other measurements rep orts, as noted
    in the field descriptions.
When a p otential p rob lem is id entified from this rep ort, other more d etailed
rep orts in the susp ec t area are req uired to ad eq uately c harac terize the prob lem.

    for All
    Trunk
GroupsThe hour d uring the sp ec ified d ay with the larg est total usag e,
when summed over all trunk g roup s. Peak hour and busy hour
are synonymous. With c onventional traffic theory d ata
analysis, there are two method s for d etermining the p eak hour.
One is the time-c oinc ident p eak hour, meaning that hourly
usag e values are averag ed ac ross d ays for eac h hour of the
d ay. The other is the b ounc ing p eak hour, meaning that the
hig hest usag e is selec ted for eac h d ay without reg ard to the
averag e ac ross d ays. For the b ounc ing p eak hour the hig hest
load on a g iven d ay may or may not oc c ur d uring the
time-c oinc id ent busy hour. These traffic rep orts and
ac c omp anying trunk g roup d ata worksheet only use the
b ounc ing p eak hour method . Note that if the total usag e for the
c urrent hour eq uals the total usag e for the p revious p eak hour,
then the peak hour is the hour with the g reatest numb er of total
    seizures.
