    each line (trunk) connected to the system.  Once entered into the

    pr ogra mmed  l ine  nam e i n p la ce of  t he d efa ult  LI NE  XX X me ss age . T his

    message displays.   SMDR continues to print out the  line  number  in  place 
    of the  pr ogra mme d na me.  If  the  li ne  name  was  not pr ogr amme d,  the

    The T-1 trunk  card provides the Tr iad Digital Systems with the  ability to 
    connect to digital  T-1 trunk circuits. The T-1  trunk  card supports  either 
    the standard D4  framing format with Alternate Mark Inversion  (AMI) or 
    Ext end ed  Supe rf ra me ( ESF -B8 ZS)  forma t  coding . T he s yst em  can s uppor t  
    TIE,  loop  start,  ground s ta rt,  and D ID  si gnal i ng pe r  channe l.  The  T -1 trunk 
    card fits into  one  card slot, how ever,  it  ta kes  up two  ca rd  slots  worth of 
    ti me  sl ot s.
    The T -1 signaling protocols  provided  are:  Loop  Start,  Ground S ta rt, T IE . 
    The  Tr iad D igi ta l  Sys te ms  use  th e T IE  s igna li ng s imul ati on fr om the  
    Central Office to a dd the ad ditional protocol of  Direct  Inwa rd  Dial (DID).

    T-1  trunking provides services  called Automatic Number  Identification 
    (ANI) and Dialed Number Identification Service (DNIS). The T-1 feature

    The  T -1 Rin gback  option  supports T -1 cha nnels w hich  re quire  ringb ack 
    tone to be transmitted to the caller  while a  call is  ringing. Some  carriers 
    require the system to generate the ringback tone, this feature allows the 
    system to provide this optio n. Ringback tone is  not used with the  DISA, 
    TIE  Line,  or D ID  signa l op tions.  By d efa ult,  the T -1 Ring back  Option is 
    ena ble d.
