These SPs count the number of pages scanned by each ADF mode to
determine the work load on the ADF.
8 231 1 Large Volume Selectable. Large copy jobs that cannot be
loaded in the ADF at one time.
8 231 2 SADF Selectable. Feeding pages one by one through
    the ADF.
8 231 3 Mixed Size Selectable. Select “Mixed Sizes” on the operation
    panel.
8 231 4 Custom Size Selectable. Originals of non-standard size.
8 231 5 Platen Book mode. Raising the ADF and placing the
    original directly on the platen.

ƒ If the scan mode is changed during the job, for example, if the user switches from ADF
to Platen mode, the count is done for the last selected mode.
ƒ The user cannot select mixed sizes or non-standard sizes with the fax application so if
the original’s page sizes are mixed or non-standard, these are not counted.
ƒ If the user selects “Mixed Sizes” for copying in the platen mode, the Mixed Size count
    is enabled.
ƒ In the SADF mode if the user copies 1 page in platen mode and then copies 2 pages
with SADF, the Platen count is 1 and the SADF count is 3.

ƒ When several documents are merged for a print job, the number of pages stored are
counted for the application that stored them.

following pages are not counted as printed pages:
ƒ Blank pages in a duplex printing job.
ƒ Blank pages inserted as document covers, chapter title sheets, and slip sheets.
