0500 - System Numbering 0505 - Extension Assignment (U Slot and DS1000) DS1000/2000 Software Manual Chapter 2: Programming483 Telephone Programming Instructions DS2000 U SLOT 1. Enter the programming mode. 2. 0505 + HOLD 3. Enter the Main Equipment Cabinet slot number (1-8) for the trunk (401-448) or extension (300-395) you want to view + HOLD. The first line of the display shows the slot you selected. 4. For the slot selected, enter the number of the port (circuit) you want to change + HOLD. For example, the 16DSTU plugged into slot 1 has 16 circuits numbered 1-16. The currently programmed extension number for slot and circuit you selected displays. 5. Enter a new extension number from the pool of unassigned extensions (e.g., extension 380 in the default database) + HOLD. If the number is already assigned to another extension, you see EXTENSION ASSIGNED! Press HOLD and start over again from step 3. 6. Return to step 3 and enter another extension to change. OR Press CONF to exit. DS1000 1. Enter the programming mode. 2. 0505 + HOLD 3. To view extensions, enter 1 + HOLD. Or, to view trunks, enter 2 + HOLD. For example, - For extension 302, enter 2. - For trunk 4, enter 4. - For the second Analog Door Box, enter 2. Note that each device type (extension, trunk, or Analog Door Box) has its own set of port numbers. 5. Press HOLD. The currently assigned extension number for the port selected displays. If you selected an extension, for example, you see: 6. Enter the new extension number for the port (100-899) + HOLD. You see: The system provides a single pool of extension numbers (100-899). Any port can use any available extension number. If you see ASSIGNMENT FAILED, the extension number you entered is already assigned to another port. 7. Press HOLD to go back to step 5 if you want to change your assignment. OR Press HOLD + CONF to go back to step 4 and select another port.
