Program 0301 - CPU Baud Rate (page 450)
Assign the baud rate for the RS-232-C port on the CPU. The options are as follows
    Fix
ed Slot and U Slot prior to 02.00.01:
    - 1 (1200)
    - 2 (2400)
    - 3 (4800)

    - 1 (2400)
    - 2 (4800)
    - 3 (9600)
    - 4 (19200)
    - 5 (38400)
    - 6 (57600) - DS1000 Only
    - 7 (115000) - DS1000 Only
You can also use Ctrl + Break from a laptop connected to the CPU RS-232-C port to step
    through the available baud rates.
    Program 0301 - SMDR Port (page 450)
Enter 1 to enable SMDR output from the CPU RS-232-C port, or enter 0 to disable SMDR at
    the CPU RS-232-C port.
Program 0301 - Print SMDR Header (page 450)
Enter Y to have the beginning of the SMDR report include the column header data. Enter N to
have the SMDR report only include the call data (without the header).
    Program 1001 - Print SMDR (page 503)
Enter Y to have the SMDR report include calls on the trunk. Enter N to have the SMDR report
    exclude calls on the trunk.
    Other Related Features
    Account Codes (page 34)
Account Codes print on the SMDR report.
    Call Timer (page 71)
The Call Timer also helps users keep track of their time on the phone.
    Caller ID (page 81)
Caller ID prints out on the SMDR report.
    Time and Date (page 383)
Time and date appear on the SMDR report.
    Transfer (page 393)
The system assigns the SMDR record to the last extension on the call. For example, if exten-
sion 306 answers the call, talks for 20 minutes, and then Transfers the call to extension 302,
extension 302 “owns” the entire call record as soon as they hang up.
    Year 2000 Compliance (page 433)
The SMDR report displays four digits for the year (i.e., 2000, 2001).
    Feature Operation
    SMDR is automatic once enabled.

    							System Programming Backup and Restore
    DS1000/2000 Software ManualChapter 1: Features357
    System Programming Backup and Restore
    Description
The PC Card provides a permanent, non-volatile backup of all the site’s programming. If you have
backed up your site data to a PC Card, for example, you can easily restore all site programming
    after an extended power failure.
    Versions 02.00.01 and Higher
Use PC Card P/N 85880 to back up and restore your site data. Each PC card can store up to 16 com-
plete data bases. In addition, you can assign a name (up to 10 characters long) to each stored data
base. You cannot use PC Card P/N 80051-V**.**.** (with system software preloaded) to store site
data. This PC Card contains only the system’s operating software and the default data base.
    Versions Prior to 02.00.01
Use PC Card P/N 85880 or P/N 80050-V**.**.** (with system software preloaded) to back up and
restore your site data. Each PC card can store up to 12 complete data bases. In addition, you can
assign a name (up to 10 characters long) to each stored data base.
    Data Base Compatibility
Program 9906 - Database Save (page 567) and Program 9907 - Database Load (page 569) show
the type of data base stored. There are currently two types of data bases:
    DB8 (U Slot software with CPU P/N 80025A)
    DB4 (U Slot software with CPU P/N 80025)
    DS2000 Fixed SlotAvailable.
    • Versions prior to 02.00.01 used PC Card P/N 80050-V**.**. **. Versions
02.00.01 and higher user PC Card P/N 80051-V**.**.**.
    • PC Card Erase utility requires software version 02.00.01 or higher. DS2000 U Slot
    DS1000Not available.
Backup and restore site data to a PC card.
    Compatibility Guidelines
Refer to your system’s Hardware Manual or instruction sheet P/N 85880INS** for
details on how to load your system software.
When loading system software, a U Slot data base (version 02.nn.nn) is not backward
compatible with a Fixed Slot data base (version 01.nn.nn). When updating to U Slot
from Fixed Slot, the system must be reinitialized (and reprogrammed) after the new
    software is loaded.
If restoring a data base from software version 02.00.00 to a higher version, the data
base addresses are offset by 8. For example, a 02.00.00 data base you store in address
00 becomes adress 08 when the same PC card is used with software version 02.01.00.
You can only back up and restore data bases of the same type (DB8 or DB4). If you
attempt to restore a data base of the wrong type, you’ll see and error message and the
    operation will abort.
There is a unique upgrade procedure you must use when upgrading from software
02.00.00 to a more recent version. Turn to Upgrading from 02.00.00 to a More Recent
    Version on page 359.

    Other Related Features
    System Diagnostics (page 354)
If the system diagnostics report a critical fault that requires a CPU change or system initializa-
tion, the installer can quickly restore site programming from the PC card.
    Battery Backup (page 59)
In the event of commercial AC power failure, the battery on the CPU PCB provides short-term
backup of system memory and the system time and date (Real Time Clock).
    Feature Operation
Upgrading from 02.00.00 to a More Recent Version
Use the following procedure if you need to upgrade an existing 02.00.00 system using CPU
80025A to a more recent version (e.g., 02.01.00) that is also using CPU 80025A. This method gives
you a way to retain your stored site-specific data. The following steps explain how to upgrade from
02.00.00 to 02.10.00, as an example.
    1. With version 02.00.00 System Software PC Card installed (P/N 80050-V02.00.00), use 9906 -
Database Save to save the data base to one of the available address (00-07).
    2. Without powering down, remove the 02.00.00 PC Card and install the new System Software
    PC Card (P/N 80051-V02.01.00).
    3. Set the CPU mode switch to BOOT and press the RESET switch. This will restart your sys-
tem with software version 02.01.00, using the factory installed (default) settings.
    4. After the system restarts, switch the CPU mode switch back to RUN.
    5. Reinstall the 02.00.00 System Software PC card you removed in step 2 above.
    6. Use 9907 - Database Load to restore the database from the address you specified in step 1
    above, offset by 8 (e.g., 02.00.00 address 00 becomes address 08 in 02.01.00).
    7. Remove the 02.00.00 System Software PC card and install a new Data Base PC Card
    (P/N 85880).
    8. Use 9906 - Database Save to store your site-specific data in one of the 16 available dat base
    addresses (00-15).
