resid e on a single ad junct. However, the switc h c annot d isting uish among several app lic ations
resid ing on the same ad junc t and treats the adjunc t, and all resid ent app lic ations, as a single
ap p lic ation. The terms app lic ation and ad junc t are used interc hangeably throug hout this
    document.
    applications processor
A micro-c omp uter based , program c ontrolled comp uter p rovid ing ap p lic ation servic es for the

trunk from an auto-in trunk g roup , the switc h automatic ally c onnec ts the trunk to the d estination —
typ ic ally an ACD sp lit where, if no agents are availab le, the call g oes into a q ueue in which c allers
are answered in the ord er in which they arrive.

automatic ally connec t and ring b oth parties when the c alled p arty b ec omes available.
    Automatic Call Distribution (ACD)
A feature that answers calls, and then, d ep end ing on ad ministered instruc tions, delivers

any c ause values that are p art of AT&T and CCITT ISDN spec ifications; Coding stand ard 3
inc lud es any other ASAI c ause values. This d ocument uses a notation for c ause value where the
cod ing stand ard for the c ause is g iven first, then a slash, then the c ause value. Example: CS0/100
is cod ing stand ard 0, c ause value 100.
