Double c lic k on the ASG Mob ile V1.1 on your d esktop and an ASG Mob ile V1.1 Log in wind ow ap p ears. 2. In the Tech ID field , type your log in ID, whic h is the name of the attac hed file (without the “ .asg” ). Your log in ID is the same as your Luc ent log in (or an ab b reviated p art of it). 3. Typ e the p assword twic e. Note that the p assword is c ase-sensitive. NOTE: Your new p assword will b e sent to you in a sep arate email. 4. Click OK and an ASG Mob ile V1.1 Authentic ation wind ow ap p ears. 5. Use your c ommunic ations p ac kag e (for examp le, DSA, DNA, or ProComm) to d ial the switc h you need to c ontac t. 6. Log into your c ommunic ations p ac kag e wind ow as either init , inads , or craft . Instead of a password p romp t, a seven-d ig it (c halleng e) numb er ap p ears in the wind ow of your c ommunic ations p ac kag e. 7. Move to the ASG Mob ile V1.1 Authentic ation wind ow. 8. Typ e the 10-d ig it Prod uc t ID in the Equipment ID field . The d efault ID is 10 zeros (0000000000). 9. Type init , inads , or craft in the Equipment Login field . The c raft login ID is the d efault. 10. Typ e the c halleng e numb er (from your c ommunic ations p ac kag e wind ow) into the Challenge field . Do not use the “ -” c harac ter. 11. Typ e the troub le tic ket numb er in the Ticket Number field . If there is no tic ket numb er, you c an use this field as a one-word c omment field or leave it blank. 12. Clic k Start . The Activity Status field d isp lays “ Started ” and the Response field displays a new 7-digit number. 13. Move to your c ommunic ations pac kag e wind ow. 14. Typ e the new 7-d ig it (resp onse) numb er in the Response field . Do not use the “ -” c harac ter. DEFINITY ECS verifies the resp onse. If c orrec t, DEFINITY log s you on. If the resp onse is inc orrec t, return to step 1. If this is the third rejec tion, see the maintenanc e b ook for your system.
UPS Installation for SCC EPN A-Carrier Cabinet E-1 E DEFINITY Enterprise Communication Server Release 8.2 Installation and Test for Single-Carrier Cabinets 555-233-120 Issue 1 April 2000 E UPS Installation for SCC EPN A-Carrier Cabinet This ap p end ix desc rib es the p roc ed ure for c onnec ting the Luc ent Series 1 On-Line Uninterrup tib le Power System (UPS) to a DEFINITY® SCC EPN c ab inet. The UPS p rovid es information on wiring , ad ministering , and d oc umenting alarms, whic h allows remote monitoring of p ower and UPS p rob lems. It also maintains c ritic al A-c arrier p orts for ab out 14 minutes d uring a p ower outage. There are two c onfig urations for c onnec ting a UPS to an SCC c ab inet: nUPS c onnec tion for fib er-remoted SCC EPN nUPS c onnec tion for DS1-remoted SCC EPN and assoc iated Channel Service Unit (CSU). The installation p roc edure follows this g eneral p roc ess: 1. Connect the UPS 2. Wire the 700A8 plug 3. Make the remaining c onnec tions 4. Ad minister the external d evic e alarm 5. Load -test and verify alarms

Connect the UPS 1. Notify the c ustomer of an EPN outag e d uring this proc edure. 2. Turn off the SCC c irc uit b reaker. 3. Unp lug the SCC from the c ommerc ial p ower sourc e. 4. Plug the SCC p ower c ord into the UPS. 5. Turn on the SCC c irc uit b reaker. 6. Plug the UPS into a 120 VAC NEMA 5-15R rec ep tac le. 7. Press and hold the OUTPUT ON b utton on the UPS until you hear a b eep . The INPUT ON and OUTPUT ON LEDs lig ht up . 8. Prog ram the UPS c ommunic ation interfac e p ort for AS400 mod e. Cut a p iec e of 24AWG (2 twisted p airs) wire long enoug h to reac h from the rear of the UPS to the 110 c ross-c onnec t field . 2. Hold the c lear c over for the 700A8 p lug in your hand with the p unc h d own g rooves away from you. The g roove on the left sid e is p in 1. See Figure E-1. NOTE: If the wire p airs are not in the c orrec t p ositions, then the alarm verific ation test may not work. 3. Route the wires through the c over, p lac ing the utility fail p air in positions 1 and 2 and the UPS pair in p ositions 5 and 6. Positions 3, 4, 7, and 8 are not used . 4. For a DS1-remoted SCC EPN and assoc iated CSUs, refer to Figure E-3 . 1. Plug the 700A8 p lug into the Z3A2 UPS alarm ad ap ter. 2. Connec t the alarm ad ap ter to the UPS DB25 RS-232 serial p ort c onnec tor. 3. Connec t the wires from the p lug to the 110 c ross-c onnec t field for the AUX connec tor (see Table E-2 and Figure E-4). If c onnec ting a UPS for a DS1-remoted SCC EPN: 4.
