Attac h a VGA monitor to the VGA c onnec tor of the TN802 IP Interfac e external c ab le assemb ly. 2. Attac h the keyb oard to the KEYBOARD c onnec tor of the external c ab le assemb ly. 3. Attach the mouse to the MOUSE connector of the external c able assemb ly. 4. Plug the monitor into an AC p ower rec ep tac le and turn it on. 5. If upg rad ing loc ally, reb oot Wind ows NT b y p ressing the rec essed reset b utton on the fac ep late (see Fig ure 5-36 ) of the TN802B IP Interfac e until the LCD shows a flashing MSHUT * . When the flashing stops and the asterisk d isap p ears (ab out 2 min), it is safe to remove the c irc uit p ac k. 6. After the TN802B is shut d own, reseat the c irc uit p ac k to restart the system. 7. Log in using ctrl alt del Upgrading IP trunks (R7) to H.323 trunks If there are existing IP trunk c onnec tions that you want to up g rad e to H.323 trunk c onnec tions, d o the following step s. Otherwise, g o to ‘‘Upg rad e to TN802B (R8)’’ on pag e 5-126 To upg rad e an existing IP trunk (R7) to an H.323 trunk (R8) req uires first g etting IP information from the existing TN802 b efore up g rad ing the TN802 to TN802B. 1. Click on My Computer > Control Panel > Network . 2. Click the Protocols tab . 3. Select TCP/IP Protocol from the list. 4. Click the Properties op tion in the Network wind ow. Write d own the IP ad d ress, sub net ad d ress, and g ateway ad d ress shown for ad ap tor [2] (see example b elow). NOTE: Do not use the ad d resses for ad ap ter [ 1] .

When d one, c lic k OK, OK . Upgrade to TN802B (R8) NOTE: The upg rad e takes ab out 20 minutes. 1. Insert the flash d isk into the rig ht most slot on the TN802 IP trunk. On the monitor, a d ialog b ox assig ns a d rive letter with the removab le med ia d esig nation; the d efault is D:. 2. Rig ht c lic k on Start > Explore to op en the Wind ows NT Exploring p ane and selec t the d rive letter ind ic ated in step 1. 3. Double-clic k on Medpro and selec t the Setup ic on. 4. Follow the Install Shield p roc ed ure to transfer all the nec essary files to the TN802 IP Interfac e. NOTE: In the Finish d ialog b ox, selec t I will restart later . Do not select Restart computer . This would b e a g ood time to read the Read me.txt file.

Under Startup Type, select Disabled and c lic k OK to d isab le IP Trunk mod e. NOTE: If IP trunk and Med Pro servic es are b oth set to automatic , the TN802B d efaults to IP Trunk and MedPro features c annot be used . 8. Select MedPro and c lic k on Startup . NOTE: Do not c lic k on Start. 9. Under Startup Type, select Automatic and c lic k OK to enab le Med Pro mod e. 10. Clic k Start > Shut Down and selec t Restart the computer? or on the TN802: Press the rec essed reset b utton on the fac ep late (see Fi g u re 5 - 3 6 ) until the LCD shows a flashing MSHUT * . When the flashing stops and the asterisk d isap p ears (ab out 2 min), reseat the c irc uit p ac k to restart the system. or on the SAT: a. Type busyout board UUCSS and press En te r . b. Affix the new TN802B lab el to the c irc uit p ac k. 12. Disc onnec t the monitor, keyb oard , and mouse.

Checking for required components The integ rated c hannel servic e unit (ICSU) p ac kag e c ontains: n120A CSU mod ule nCab le H600-383 4-pair modular cord Group 2, 50-Foot (15.2 m) c able (standard ) nCord DW8A-DE 4-p air mod ular c ord to alarm c ontac ts nDS1 c irc uit p ac k The b asic ICSU req uires a TN474E or TN777D or later suffix. Do not c onnec t the 120A to any interfac e other than a network smart jac k. Be sure the DS1 c irc uit p ac k is set for 24-c hannel op eration (1.544 Mb p s). Sec ure the 4C retainer around the 120A. 5. Attac h the sup p lied H600-383 c able to the 120A and to the network smart jac k. This c ab le is d irec tional. To determine the end that c onnec ts to the 120A, p erform a c ontinuity test b etween pins 3 and 7. The end with this c ontinuity is the 120A end . The shield is g round ed only at the 120A end . Use the c ab le p rovid ed . If c ab ling other than that p rovided with the 120A is used , ob serve the following g uid elines: nUse 24-g aug e wire that p rovid es ind ividually shield ed , twisted p airs for transmit and rec eive sig nals. Use the c ab le b etween the network interfac e and the 120A. Ground the shield s of this c able only at the 120A end to avoid g round loop s. nCab ling b etween the network interfac e and 120A c an have no bridge taps. nIf using stand ard house riser c ab le for c onnec tions b etween the network interfac e and the 120A, maintain a 100-p air sep aration b etween the rec eive and transmit twisted p airs. nIf using stand ard house riser c ab le for c onnec tions b etween the network interfac e and the 120A, allow no more than 2 c ross c onnec ts to 110-typ e c ross c onnec t bloc ks. nNever use quad c ab le (untwisted two pair telep hone c ab le) in a DS1 line. nAvoid mixing wires of d ifferent g aug es in a DS1 line. 6. If using external alarm eq uip ment, attac h the sup p lied DW8 c ab le to the 120A and the external eq uip ment. The maximum length of this c ab le d ep end s on the alarm eq uip ment. 7. If a TN474F is used , make sure the c irc uit p ac k is set for 24-c hannel op eration. Set the switc h on the c irc uit p ac k as shown in Fig ure 2-1. 8. From the DS1 c irc uit-p ac k form of the system ad ministration c onsole, set the line c omp ensation field to 0-133 feet (40.6 m). 9. Reset the 120A b y reseating the DS1 c irc uit p ac k. When you reinsert the DS1 c irc uit p ac k after installing a 120A CSU the 120A resets. The DS1 c irc uit p ac k initializes and tests the 120A. When initialization and testing is c omp lete, the g reen LED goes off. If the RED indic ator is OFF after the test, the ICSU is working . 10. If the c irc uits d o not p ass the self test, troub leshoot the 120A as instruc ted in Integ rated CSU Mod ule Installation and Op eration.
