    4As shown in the figure, clean dirt from the transfer 
    roller by moving the brush from side to side along 
    the roller while rotating the roller by turning the gear 
    at the left end of the roller.
    5Put away the cleaning brush, press the specified 
    position of the front cover and left cover 1 to close.

    Toner Container and Waste Toner Box Replacement
    When the touch panel displays Add toner, replace the toner.
    Every time you replace the toner container, be sure to clean the parts as instructed below. Dirty parts may 
    deteriorate output quality.
    CAUTION: Do not attempt to incinerate the toner container or the waste toner box. Dangerous sparks 
    may cause burns.
    Toner Container Replacement
    1
    Open the front cover.
    2Turn the toner container release lever to the vertical 
    position.

    3Open the provided plastic disposal bag and place it 
    at the toner container slot.Open the provided 
    plastic disposal bag and place it at the toner 
    container slot.
    4Remove the old toner container by holding the 
    handle and place it in the provided plastic disposal 
    bag.
    5Hold the new toner container in both hands and 
    shake it from side to side several times.

    6Hold the new toner container in both hands and 
    gently push it in.
    7Turn the toner container release lever to the 
    horizontal position.
    Use the same procedure to replace the other color 
    toner containers.
    8Close the front cover.
    NOTE: Return the exhausted toner container and 
    waste toner box to your dealer or service 
    representative. The collected toner container and 
    waste toner box will be recycled or disposed in 
    accordance with the relevant regulations

    Waste Toner Box Replacement
    1
    Open the front cover.
    2Press the release button (1) and pull out the waste 
    toner tray (2).
    3Cap the old waste toner box.
    4Remove the old waste toner box at an angle and 
    place it in the plastic disposal bag provided.
    CAUTION: Do not attempt to incinerate the toner 
    container or the waste toner box. Dangerous sparks 
    may cause burns.

    5Open the new waste toner box cap.
    6Install a new waste toner box.
    7Press on the left edge of the new waste toner box 
    to lock it.
    8Press the specified position to close the waste 
    toner tray. When the tray reaches the correct 
    position, it locks in place with a clicking sound.
    9Close the front cover.
    NOTE: Return the exhausted toner container and 
    waste toner box to your dealer or service 
    representative. The collected toner container and 
    waste toner box will be recycled or disposed in 
    accordance with the relevant regulations.

    Solving Malfunctions
    The table below provides general guidelines for problem solving.
    If a problem occurs with your machine, look into the checkpoints and perform procedures indicated on the 
    following pages. If the problem persists, contact your Service Representative.
