    m One at a time. press each of the keys on the 
    keyset in any order. A progress tone (or a 
    DTMF tone for keypad 
    keys) is heard if the 
    key is functioning properly. If the signals 
    are not heard. the key is fauln. Return the 
    keyset for repair if any key is faulty. 
    Lift and replace the handset. The audio in- 
    tegrated module tones are broadcast over 
    the speakerphone speaker. (Display key- 
    sets show KTS SELF-TEST AIlITOSES.) 
    Lift and replace the handset. .+.udio inte- 
    grated module tones of various volume 
    lev- 
    els, 
    from softest to loudest. are broadcast 
    over the speakerphone speaker. (Display 
    keysets show =S SELF-TEST AIM 
    TONE VOLUME.) 
    Lift and replace the handset. Tones of vari- 
    ous volume levels, from softest to loudest, 
    are broadcast over the speakerphone 
    speaker. (Display keysets show K.TS

    Lift the handset. then press and release the 
    hookswitch. Tones of \,arious volume lev- 
    els, from softest to loudest. are broadcast 
    over the handset receiver. (Display keysets 
    show KTS SELF-TEST AIlI HS VOL- 
    UME.) 
    Press and release the hooksxitch. A con- 
    tinuous tone is broadcast over the handset 
    receiver using the prima5 voice path cir- 
    cuitry. (Display keysets show KTS 
    SELF-TEST AIM XhlTIRCV PRI.) 
    Press and release the hookswitch. A con- 
    tinuous tone is broadcast over the handset 
    receiver using the secondan_voice path cir- 
    cuitry. (Display keysets show KTS 
    SELF-TEST AIM XhIT/RC\7 SEC.) 
    Press and release the hookswitch. The 
    handset transmitter is connected to the n. While speaking into the han&x transcit- 
    ter, determine that sidetqne is being :z- 
    ceived over the handset receiver.

    3.5 Before performing the installation instructions 
    outlined in this section. refer to the information in 
    the GMX-48 manual beginning on page 3-35.  B. DIRECT STATIOE SELECTIOS/BUSI 
    (4) Locate the strap (52) in the louver-tight iorr.er 
    LAMP FIELD (DSS/BLF) UNIT 
    INSTALLATION of the control board (see Figure 1 on page 6) 
    and ensure that it is in the DSSl p$sitio‘n (ox-x 
    the right two pins). 
    (5) Perform the DSS/BLF Unit self-rest: 
    3.6 To install Inter-TeliDVK DSSIBLF Units, fol- 
    low these steps: a. 
    (1) Before connecting the DSS/BLF Unit to the 
    KSU, measure the voltage on the RED termi- b. 
    nal of the modular jack assembly with respect 
    to the GREEN terminal. (The “common” 
    probe of the voltmeter is placed on the 
    GREEN terminal.) It must measure 
    +3OVDC (+Z.OVDC). If -3O\DC is mea- 
    sured, check the cabling for a reversed pair. 
    CAUTION 
    If the power pair (W/BL, BL/W) is reversed, in- 
    stalling a DSS/BLF Unit will open the fuse on 
    the KSU Control Board or Expansion hlodule. 
    This affects operation of all keysets and DSSi 
    BLF Units connected to the board or module. 
    C. 
    (2) Mount the modular jack assembly on the wall. 
    (3) Remove the four screws on the bottom of the 
    DSS/BLF Unit and remove the bottom cover. 
    d. Plug one end of the line cord in:o the m?Z- 
    ular jack on the unit’s control bgx:. 
    \Vhile holding down keys 100 and 110

    fault), plug the other end of tk line c?:i 
    into the modular jack asse,m?l!_. Iv1 :he 
    keys should light up. If an LED doss .1c7r 
    light. remove and replace the line ix2

    fault). If the test fails again. replace :hs 
    DSSiBLF Unit.

    Press each key individually (in any orZ:r : t? 
    remove the lit status. When, finished. all 
    keys should be unlit. If an LED does nor g3 
    out, remove and repIace the line cord and 
    repeat steps b and c. If the test fails a@ 
    replace the DSS/BLF Unit. -titer all

    keys 
    have been tested, it takes approd- 
    mately 10 seconds for the DSS BLF L-nit 
    to return to normal operation. 
    Re-assemble the DSSBLF L-nit.

    4.1 Except for the differences noted in this supple- 
    ment. the Inter-TeliDVK stations instruments func- 
    tion exactly the same as the station instruments 
    described in the manual. All keyset and DSS ‘BLF 
    Unit feature instructions in the manual also appl!- to 
    the Inter-TellD\K station instruments. f.

    4.2 On Inter-TeltDVK keysets, handset volume. 
    speakerphone volume. ring tone volume. etc. are 
    controlled by pressing volume control feature keys 
    (\-OL UP and VOL DN) as described belo\\-. g.

    (1) While performing or listening to any of the fol- 
    lowing eight functions, press the T’OL PP 
    (volume up) key to raise the volume or press 
    the \‘OL DS (volume down) key to louver the 
    volume. A confirmation tone indicates that 
    you have reached the highest or lowest possi- 
    ble volume. Display keysets show the level as it 
    is raised or lowered. 
    a. 
    To change handset intercom voice volume. 
    press the desired key while on an off-hook 
    (handset) intercom call. (2) To save the new volume level, ifaesired: Press 
    the VOL UP and VOL DN keys :I the same 
    time. If this step is not performtt. the keyset 
    will retain the previous saved vo::r;e level for 
    that function (except for the ring?.; 
    alert tone 
    volume, which is automatically saved at the 
    most current volume level).

    To change handsfree intercom voice t,olume 
    (w.hich includes paging volume).

    desired key while on an on-hook (speaker- 
    phone) intercom call or while listening to a

    3. - PROGRAMMING 
    5.1 To reprogram the default values of rhs user-pro- 
    grarnmable feature keys on the Inter-T21 D1K key- 
    sets, refer to program [DXC] Soft Fsature Key 
    Default Values (/SOFT) as outlined on pase_j-60 in 
    the manual. A program planning sheet for the Inter- 
    Tel/DVK keysets is provided in Figure 3 below.
