    1. OVERVIEW 
    Use 
    this Inter-TellDVK Supplement in conjunc- 
    tion with Issue 2 of the GM-48 
    Installation and 
    Field Maintenance Manual. 
    Except for the differ- 
    ences noted in this supplement, the Inter-Tel.’ 
    DVK station instruments install and operate the 
    same as those outlined in the manual. 
    1.1 In addition to the station instruments described 
    in the manual, the new digital Inter-Tel;D\?;; station 
    instruments can also be used on the G\IX-IS System. 
    SOTE: In order for the Inter-Tel/DVK station instru- 
    ments to operate properly, the system must be in- 
    stalled with one of the new software packages 
    described in the Issue 2 manual (software part num- 
    bers 827.6005, 827.6006, and 827.6007). 
    1.2 The Inter-Tel/DVK station instruments in- 
    clude:

    1.3 Inter-Tel/DVK keysets, which come equipped 
    with audio integrated module (AIM) circuitry. allow 
    the user to individuallycontrolvoice and tone volume 
    levels for intercom calls, outside calls. background 
    music, etc. In the PROGRAMMING section of the 
    GAIX-48 manual, the Inter-Tel/DVK keysets are re- 
    ferred to as AIM keysets, which was the developmen- 
    tal name at the time the manual was published.

    2.1 A built-in, integrated speakerphone is standard 
    in all Inter-Tel/DVK keysets. For illustrations of the keysets, refer to Figures 3 through 6 on pages 10

    2_2 Like the GMX 24-line keyset. all Inter-Tel’ 
    DVK keysets can be equipped with secondaq voice 
    paths (to 
    receive OHVA calls and/or to USC the sinml- 
    taneous 
    voice/data communication feature;). Refer to 
    pages 3-14 and 5-49 in the G&1X-48 manual for spe- 
    cial installation and programming information. 
    Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) 
    Unit 
    2.3 All standard Inter-Tel/D\% keysets (7-l-line. 
    12-line, and S-line) can be converted to display sets b>- 
    installing a liquid cpstal display (LCD) unit as out- 
    lined in the manual on page 3-38. Inter-Tel/D\K 
    24-line keysets use the 
    large LCD Kit (“art no. 
    828.1168). Inter-Tel/DVK 12-line and S-line ke>.sets 
    use the 
    small LCD Kit (part no. 828.1166). 
    Data Port Modules 
    2.4 All Inter-Tel/DVK ke>sets ma\- be equipped 
    with optional Data Port Modules (part no. 828.1091) 
    for connecting either a data device or a loud ringing 
    adapter (LRA) and an external signal& device. Re- 
    fer to page 3-42 in the G&IX-4S manual for installa- 
    tion instructions. 
    B. DIRECT STATION SELECTION/BUSY 
    LAMP FIELD (DSS/BLF) UNITS 
    2.5 The Inter-TeliDVK DSS5LF Unit is similar 
    in 
    design and function to the GMX DSS./BLF Unit de- 
    scribed in the manual. 
    2.6 For a drawing of the Inter-Tel/DVK DSSiBLF 
    Unit, refer to Figure 7 on page 13. The unit’s dimen- 
    sions are:
