Call is forced private Refer to page 4-74 in FWWURES for jnformation on call privacy and privacy release. Programming error Verify that system-wide CO privacy release option is enabled. See PROGRAMh%lN G, page 5-67. SYMPTOM PROBABLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION Station cannot be placed in User error Refer to page 4-95 in PEAWRES for correct pro- do-not-disturb cedures. Programming error Station is programmed to disallow do-not-disturb. See PROGRAMMIN G, page 5-30. Defective keyset Perform the keyset self-test as described in IN- STALLATION, pages 3-107,3-116, or 3-128, and replace the keyset if faulty. SYMPTOM Automated attendant inop erative PROBABLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION User error The caller must be using a DThE phone to enter digits. Refer to PEAWRES, page 4-12. DTMP tones not being inter- If numbers appear to be misdialed frequently, due preted correctly (see NOTE to trunk noise or other problems, use the Digit ~ below) Translation feature as described on page 5-39 in PROGRAMMING and page 4-14 in PEAWRES. I DTMF decoder unavailable I If a M’MP decoder is not available, the caller is transferred to the automated attendant’s attendant. Programming error Automated attendant station(s) must be designated in the database. Refer to PROGRAMMING, page 5-38. Defective playback device Replace the playback device. NOTE: Due to the natural characteristics of the CO trunk, the volume level of DThfP tones transmitted over the trunk may be substantially reduced before reaching the 416/832 System. This natural degradation in tone volume may ad- versely affect the reliability of the automated attendant feature. Other factors which can affect automated attendant performance are CO trunk noise, the quality of the playback device, and the quality and strength of the M’h4P tones generated by the off-premises phone itself.
