Connecting the Printer to the Computer Using a USB CableConnect the printer and the computer using a USB cable as the illustration below. The USB port is located on the rear of the printer.215
When Detecting the Printers Have the Same Name during SetupWhen the printer is detected during setup, you may see multiple printers of the same name on the detectionresult screen. Select a printer with checking the MAC address or the serial number set to the printer against that on the detection result screen. Note • A serial number may not be displayed on the detection result screen. To check the MAC address of the printer, print out the network setting information. Printing Out Network Setting InformationYou can print out the current network settings of the printer. Important • This print out contains valuable information about your computer. Handle it with care. 1. Make sure that the printer is turned on. 2. Load a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper. 3. Press the Setup button. The Setup menu screen is displayed. 4. Use the button to select Device settings, then press the OK button. 5. Use the button to select LAN settings, then press the OK button. 6. Use the button to select Print LAN details , then press the OK button. The printer starts printing the network setting information.
