3 Key Station Features, Operation, and Programming The System and Key Station features and programming of theSTARPL US®DH S -L™ Systems are listed and desc ribed in this c hapter. A n abbreviated feature index is provided in Table 3-11: Feature Access Codes, full-feature descriptions are provided alphabetically following Table 3 -1 2: System Numbering Plan.

Programming Us in g a P C TheDHS- Lsoftware allows the se rvice te chnician to progra m theDHS-Lsystem using an external, PC -ba sed, D OS sof twa re programming tool. T he DOS s oftware tool stream lines programming and allows for database printout and reserve storage. Operation of the PC Programm ing s oftware is not covered in this text. Tho se unf amiliar with PC op eration an d the D OS en vironme nt should re ly on the following (a ll e ncompas sing) b uilt-in Datab ase Ad m in ist r at io n fac i li ty . In other areasof programming where data is entered fromthe dial pad, the [save] Soft Butto n must be p ressed t o sa ve t hat e nte red d ata.

Opera tion To ma ke cha nges in the cus tom er databa se, you must e nte r D atabas e Pr ogra mmi ng fr om an idle Executive (display model) Key Telephone. (Any Executive Key Telephone connected to any station port will se rv e a s the programming e ntry te rm inal). To enter the pr ogra mmi ng mod e: 1. From an idle station, pres s the [FE AT ] b utton. The display cha nge s as s ee n be low : 2. Dial [#] + [ ✳] on the keypad. The display prompts for the database password. The default password is ######## (8 #s). 3. When the center Soft Button [next] is pressed, the next sequential programming ca tegory is d is pla yed. -or - If the left Soft Button [back] is pressed, the last programming category is displayed.
