6 Maintenance/ Trou bleshooti ng TheST A RPLU S®DHS-L™troubleshooting procedure is a logical approach to fault identification, analysis, and correc tion. The key system may generate symptoms of problems that actually occur outside of the office environment.

Use of chemicals to clea n the te le phone plas tics is NOT recomm ende d sincesomechemicalscancausepermanentdamagetothetelephonefinish.Ifdeep soiling conditions exist for the telephone to be cleaned, use of specialized telephony cleaning solutions may give satisfactory results. When trying any cleaner for the first time we suggest that it be applied to the telephone instrument underside in a small sample area to assure that the desired results are obtained before proceeding. Failures Probl e ms s uch as sy st em re st ar ts (fr om t em por ary A C p ower i nte r rupt i on), fadi ng (f rom the long d is ta nce ca rrier) , or dropped ca lls (caused b y intern al user ran domly pres sing hold ing CO Line buttons ) a ll are common s ituations that a re not the re sult of a sy stem component or software failure. The S ystem Troubles hooting s ection attempts to provid e the serv ice technicia n with some quick, and reliable, tools to diagnose installation related or service related problem re po r ts . KSU Comp onent fa ilures at the KSU a re limited to power d is trib ution (f uses), imp roper or shor te d w ir ing , C O or s ta ti on i nt er fac e fai l ure , or a uxil ia ry c ir c ui t p rob le ms. EMER GENCY ACTION Since the unique battery protected customer database wil l be erased and the system w ill boot up w ith d efau lt pr og ra mmi ng .1.
