Use lifting p rec autions. If the d oors, p ower unit, and c irc uit p ac ks are removed , the unit weig hs only 29 lb (13.1 kg ). Install Plywood Backing onto Wall The p lywood and the hard ware to mount the p lywood are installer-p rovid ed . NOTE: The following p lywood d imensions ac c ount for the extra sp ac e need ed to install the p anels on eac h side of the c ab inet. The c ab inet is 24 in. (0.6 m) wid e and eac h p anel is 12 in. (0.3 m) wid e. Single-Cabinet Installation 1. Install a 3/4-in. (2 c m) thic k sheet of 2 x 4-ft (0.6 x 1.2 m) p lywood horizontally onto the wall. See Figure 1-4 . The top of the p lywood must b e at least 54 in. (137 c m) from the floor. 2 or 3 Vertically Mounted Cabinets 1. Install a 3/4-in. (2 c m) thic k sheet of 4 x 8-ft (1.2 x 2.4 m) p lywood vertic ally onto the wall. See Figure 1-6 . 2 Cabinets Vertically Mounted and 1 Cabinet Horizontally Mounted 1. Install a 3/4-in. (2 c m) thic k sheet of 4 x 8-ft (1.2 x 2.4 m) p lywood vertic ally onto the wall. See Figure 1-6 . 2. Install a 3/4-in. (2 c m) thic k sheet of 2 x 4-ft (0.6 x 1.2 m) sheet of p lywood horizontally onto the wall. Position the p lywood to the rig ht of the first sheet, ac ross from Cab inet A.

Left Panel Used as Mounting Template 1. Plac e the temp late on the wall ensuring that the top surfac e is level. 2. Mark two 1/8-in. (0.3 c m) p ilot holes in the mounting hole loc ations. 3. Remove the temp late from the wall. 4. Drill the two p ilot holes. 5. Thread two #12 x 1-in. should er sc rews p artially into the holes. 6. Set the c ab inet onto the wall and alig n the slots with the should er sc rews. See Figure 1-5 . Slid e the c ab inet to the left to hold it in p lac e. Tig hten the sc rews sec urely.

The AC rec ep tac le must not b e loc ated und er the Main Distrib ution Frame and must b e easily ac c essib le. !CAUTION: The latc h only removes DC p ower from the c ab inet. Unseating the p ower sup p ly removes AC p ower from the p ower sup p ly, b ut not from the c ab inet. To remove AC p ower from the c abinet, p ull the AC p ower c ord from the AC ap p lianc e c onnec tor on the rear of the c ab inet. !CAUTION: System g round ing must c omp ly with the g eneral rules for g round ing p rovid ed in Artic le 250 of the National Elec tric al Cod e (NEC), National Fire Protec tion Ag enc y (NFPA) 70, or the ap p lic ab le elec tric c ode in the c ountry of installation. !CAUTION: AC mains wiring and testing must be performed by a qualified electrician and must c onform to Artic le 250 of the National Elec tric al Cod e (NEC), National Fire Protec tion Ag enc y (NFPA) 70, or the ap plic ab le elec tric c od e in the c ountry of installation. Check AC Power Eac h CMC uses an auto-ranging 85 to 264 VAC p ower sup p ly, 47 to 63 Hz, 330 W, 4.5 amp s (100-120 VAC) or 2.3 amp s (200 to 240 VAC), at 500 VA. The AC p ower sourc e c an be 1 p hase of 120 VAC with neutral (100 VAC for Jap an) with 15 amp c irc uit b reaker, or 1 p hase of 220 or 240 VAC (200 VAC for Jap an) with 10 amp c irc uit b reaker. The AC c ord uses a NEMA 5-15P p lug or an IEC 320 plug. Before p owering up the system, c hec k the AC p ower in the eq uip ment room using a KS-20599 d ig ital voltmeter (DVM) (or eq uivalent). 1. Measure the AC voltag e b etween the hot and neutral sid e of the rec ep tac le. 2. Dep end ing on the AC p ower sourc e, verify that the meter read s 90 to 132 VAC or 180 to 264 VAC. If not, have a q ualified elec tric ian c orrec t the problem. 3. Measure the voltag e b etween the neutral and ground sid e of the rec ep tac le. 4. Verify that the meter read s 0 VAC. If not, have a q ualified elec tric ian c orrec t the p rob lem. 5. When finished , set the AC mains c irc uit breakers to OFF.
