20.Carefully unroute the Color Sensor (ESP) cable from the Carriage Assembly. 21.Remove one T-10 screw that secures the Color Sensor (ESP) to the Carriage Assembly. 22.Remove the Color Sensor (ESP) from Carriage Assembly. NOTE: When you reinstall the Color Sensor (ESP), be very careful not to overtighten the attachment screw because this will damage cause irreparable damage to it. Take care when you route the Colo r Sensor (ESP) cable so it lays flat and is not twisted. This ensures that when you reconnect it to the conn ector in the Carriage Assembly it is connected correctly. If the cable has been twisted during the routing there is a danger that the connection is inverted. Line Sensor Removal ENWW Line Sensor 267
NOTE:Switch off the printer and remove the power cable. 1.Remove the Right Cover (refer Right Cover on page 185). 2. Remove the Left Cover (refer Left Cover on page 188). 3. Remove the Front Panel (refer Front Panel on page 203). 4. Remove the Top Cover (refer Top Cover on page 205). 5. Remove the Window Position Sensor (refer Window Position Sensor on page 208). 6. Remove the Ink Supply Tubes Support Rail (refer Ink Supply Tubes Support Rail on page 209). 7. Open the Carriage Cover. 8.Remove all the Printheads. 9.Remove the four T-15 screws that secure t he Ink Supply Tubes to the Carriage Assembly. 268 Chapter 6 Removal and Installation ENWW
10.Carefully lift out the Ink Supply Tubes and close the carriage cover at the same time. 11.Close and lock the Carriage Cover. 12.Carefully move the Ink Supply Tubes into the print path. ENWW Line Sensor 269
13.Unclip and slide off the small cover of the Carriage Assembly Carriage PCA. 14.Remove one T-15 screws that secures the large cover of the Carriage PCA. 15.Remove the large cover of the Carriage PCA. 270 Chapter 6 Removal and Installation ENWW
16.Disconnect the Line Sensor electrical connection from the Carriage PCA. 17.Carefully unroute the Line Sensor cable from the Carriage Assembly. 18.Remove one T-10 screw that secures the Line Sensor to the Carriage Assembly. ENWW Line Sensor 271
19.Remove the Line Sensor from Carriage Assembly. NOTE: When you finish installing or replacing this component, you must perform the necessary Service Calibrations. To find which ca librations you must perform, refer to Service Calibration Guide to Removal and Installation on page 170. Carriage Cover (includes Carriage Latch) Removal NOTE:Switch off the printer and remove the power cable. 1.Remove the Right Cover (refer Right Cover on page 185). 2. Remove the Left Cover (refer Left Cover on page 188). 3. Remove the Front Panel (refer Front Panel on page 203). 4. Remove the Top Cover (refer Top Cover on page 205). 5. Remove the Window Position Sensor (refer Window Position Sensor on page 208). 6. Remove the Ink Supply Tubes Support Rail (refer Ink Supply Tubes Support Rail on page 209). 7. 8.Remove all the Printheads. 9.Remove the four T-15 screws that secure the Ink Supply Tubes to the Carriage Assembly. 10.Carefully lift out the Ink Supply Tubes and close the carriage cover at the same time. ENWW Carriage Cover (includes Carriage Latch) 273
11.Close and lock the Carriage Cover. 12.Carefully move the Ink Supply Tubes into the print path. 13.Unclip and slide off the small cover of the Carriage Assembly Carriage PCA. 274 Chapter 6 Removal and Installation ENWW
14.Remove one T-15 screws that secures the large cover of the Carriage PCA. 15.Remove the large cover of the Carriage PCA. 16.Disconnect the six ribbon cables of Carr iage Cover from the Carriage Assembly PCB. ENWW Carriage Cover (includes Carriage Latch) 275
17.Remove six T-10 screws that secure the Carriage Assembly Cover hinge. 18.Carefully lift the Carriage Cover in the vertical position to remove it from the Carriage Assembly. NOTE:When you finish installing or replacing this component, you must perform the necessary Service Calibrations. To find which ca librations you must perform, refer to Service Calibration Guide to Removal and Installation on page 170.
