21.Remove the four T-15 screws that secure t he Ink Supply Tubes to the Carriage Assembly. 22.Carefully lift out the Ink Supply Tubes and close the carriage cover at the same time. 23.Close and lock the Carriage Cover. 248 Chapter 6 Removal and Installation ENWW
24.Loosen the T-10 uncapping scre w sufficiently so you can manually move the Carriage Assembly in step 26. 25. Push the Carriage Assembly into the print path. 26.Unclip the small cover of the Carriage PCA. ENWW Carriage Assembly (with or without Trailing Cable) 249

30.Slide the Trailing Cables out of the atta chment clips of the Carriage Assembly. 31.Loosen the T-15 screw Belt Tensioner to the printer to remove the tension from the belt. 32.Leave the Belt Tensioner in place with all the tension removed. 33.Remove the Belt Assembly from the Scan- Axis Motor drive wheel. 34.Remove the two T-15 screw that secure the Media Lever attachment plate. 35.Remove the Media Lever attachment plate. 252 Chapter 6 Removal and Installation ENWW
36.Disconnect the Pinchwheel Lifter Sensor. 37.Unroute the cables from the cable clamps on the Scan Side Panel. 38.Remove the seven T-15 screw that secure the Scan Side Panel to the printer. ENWW Carriage Assembly (with or without Trailing Cable) 253
39.Remove the Scan Side Panel. 40.Carefully slide the Carriage Assembly and Belt Assembly out of the printer (and the Trailing Cable if you are removing it with the Carriage Assembly). NOTE: Before you reinstall the Carriage Assembly use an alcohol dampened cloth to remove all traces of residual adhesive (remaining from the double sided pads removed in step 14) from the printer before applying new pads in t he same positions as the original pads. NOTE:When you finish installing or replacing this component, you must perform the necessary Service Calibrations. To find which ca librations you must perform, refer to Service Calibration Guide to Removal and Installation on page 170. Carriage Rear Bushing Removal NOTE:Switch off the printer and remove the power cable. 1.Remove the Front Cover (refer Front Cover on page 177). 2. Remove the Right Cover (refer Right Cover on page 185). 3. Remove the Left Cover (refer Left Cover on page 188). 4. Remove the Cutter Assembly (refer Cutter Assembly on page 199). 5. Remove the Front Panel (refer Front Panel on page 203). 6. Remove the Top Cover (refer Top Cover on page 205). 7. Remove the Window Position Sensor (refer Window Position Sensor on page 208). 8. Remove the Ink Supply Tubes Support Rail (refer Ink Supply Tubes Support Rail on page 209). 254 Chapter 6 Removal and Installation ENWW
9.Remove the Encoder Strip (with spring and attachment nut) (refer Encoder Strip (with spring and attachment nut) on page 231). 10. Remove the Carriage Assembly (with or without Trailing Cable) (refer Carriage Assembly (with or without Trailing Cable) on page 244). 11. Squeeze the left hand clip of the Carriage Rear Bush ing sufficiently to be able to release it from the Carriage Assembly. 12. Rotate the Carriage Rear Bush ing vertically and remove it from the Carriage Assembly. NOTE:When you reinstall the Carriage Rear Bushing, use the Oil and Oil Dispenser from the Lubrication Kit to add 2-3 drops of oil to the small depression in it. NOTE:When you finish installing or replacing this component, yo u must perform the necessary Service Calibrations. Belt Assembly Removal NOTE:Switch off the printer and remove the power cable. 1.Remove the Carriage Asse mbly (with or without Trailing Cable) (refer Carriage Assembly (with or without Trailing Cable) on page 244. 2. Slide the Belt Assembly out of the a ttachment on the Carriage Assembly. 3.Remove the pulley to release the Belt Assembly from the Belt Tensioner. NOTE:There is a spacer between the right end plate and the tensioner. NOTE:When you finish installing or replacing this component, you must perform the necessary Service Calibrations.
