    12Click “Print Palette” and check if the adjusted color is closer to 
    the color you want and then click “Next”.
    Note
    If you want to change the color more or change other colors, 
    repeat steps 8 to 11.
    13Enter a save name and then click “Save”.
    14Click “OK”.
    15Click “Finish”.
    For Macintosh
    1Launch the “Color Correct Utility”.
    2Select the MFP and then click “Select PPD File”.
    3Select a PPD file for the MFP and click “Open”.
    4Click “Next”.
    5Click “Office Palette Tuning”.
    6Select the name of the setting you want and click “Print 
    Swatches”.
    The Color sample is printed.
    7Click “Next”.

    8Click “‘Print Palette”.
    The Adjusting color sample is printed.
    9Compare the color between the color palette on the screen and 
    printed adjusting color sample.
    Note
    Any colors marked with a cross cannot be adjusted.
    10Click the color you want to adjust.
    11Check each adjustable range from the pull-down menu for X and 
    Y.
    Note
    The adjustable value varies depending on the color.
    12Check the printed color sample to select the most suitable color 
    you want within the adjustable range and then check the X and Y 
    values.
    13Select the values you checked in the previous step and click 
    “OK”.
    14Click “Print Palette” and check that the adjusted color is closer to 
    the color you want.
    Note
    If you want to change the color more or change other colors, 
    repeat steps 10 to 14.
    15Enter a name and click “Save”.

    16To save the setting on the PPD file selected at step 3, click 
    [Save].
    17Enter the administrator’s name and password.
    18Click “Quit”.
    19Click “OK”.
    20Under “System Preferences” select “Print & Fax” to delete and re-
    register all printers for which adjustments were made.
    Changing Gamma Value or Hue
    You can adjust the tone by adjusting the gamma value, and the 
    output color by adjusting the hue.
    For Windows
    1Click “Start > “All Programs” > “Okidata” > “Color Correct Utility” 
    > “Color Correct Utility”.
    2Select “Hue & Saturation Tuning” and click “Next”.
    3Select the MFP, then click “Next”.
    4Select the standard mode, then click “Next”.
    5Apply settings as necessary by adjusting the slide bar. 
    Note
    If you select the “Use printer’s unadjusted color” check box, 
    100% of each color is used for printing, and the hue slide bar is 
    fixed.
    6Click “Test Print”.
    7Check the print result.

    Note
    If you are not satisfied with the result, repeat steps 5 and 6.
    8Click “Next”.
    9Enter a name and click “Save”.
    10Click “OK”.
    11Click “Finish”.
    For Macintosh OS X
    1Launch the Color Correct Utility].
    2Select the MFP, then click “Select PPD file”.
    3Select a PPD file for the MFP and click “Open”.
    4Click “Next”.
    5Click “Gamma/Hue/Saturation Tuning”.
    6Select the standard mode, then click “Next”.
    7Apply settings if necessary by adjusting the slide bar. 
    Note
    If you enter check “Use default printer hue”, 100% of each color 
    is used for printing, and the hue slide bar is fixed.
    8Click “Print Test”.
    9Check the print result.

    Note
    If you are not satisfied with the result, repeat steps 7 to 9.
    10Enter a name, then click “Save”.
    11To save the setting on the PPD file selected at step 3, click 
    “Save”.
    12Enter the administrator password.
    13Click “Quit”.
    14Click “OK”.
    15Under “System Preferences”, select “Print & Fax” to delete and

    Printing Using Adjusted Color Settings
    Windows PCL/PS Printer Drivers
    1Open the file you want to print.
    2From the “File” menu, select “Print”.
    3Click “Preferences” or “Properties”, depending on the version of 
    Windows you are using.
    4On the “Color” tab, select “Office Color”, then click “Detail” 
    (“Details” for PS).
    5Select the “User Setting” (“User Settings” for PS) and select the 
    setting you created with the Color Correct Utility, then click “OK”.
    Windows PCLXS Printer Driver
    1Open the file you want to print.
    2From the “File” menu, select “Print”.
    3Click “Preferences” or “Properties”, depending on the version of 
    Windows you are using.
    4On the “Color” tab, select “Advanced Color”.

    5Select “User Defined” under “Color Setting”, then select he 
    setting you created with the Color Correction utility.
    6Click “OK”.
    Macintosh OS X PS Printer Driver
    1Open the file you want to print.
    2From the “File” menu, select “Print”.
    3Click “Office Color” on the “Color” panel.
    4Click “Options” to select the setting you created with the Color 
    Correct Utility from “User Color Adjustment”.
    5Click “OK”.
    Saving Color Correction Settings
    You can save the adjusted color settings to a file.
    Important!
    The administrator’s authority is needed for this function.
    For Windows
    1Click “Start” > “All Programs” > “Okidata” > “Color Correct 
    Utility” > “Color Correct Utility”.
    2Select “Import/Export Color Settings”, then click “Next”.
    3Select the MFP, then click “Next”.
    4Click “Export”.
    5Select the file you want to export and then click “Export”.
    6Specify the folder where the file is to be saved and then click 
    “Save”.
    7Click “OK”.
    8Click “Finish”.

    For Macintosh OS X
    1Launch the Color Correct Utility.
    2Select the MFP, then click “Select PPD file” to select a file.
    3Select a PPD file for the MFP and click “Open”.
    4Click “Next”.
    5Click “Manage Color Settings”.
    6Click “Export”.
    7Select the file you want to export, then click “Export”.
    8Specify the folder in which to save the settings, then click “Save”.
    9Click “Cancel”.
    10Click “Quit”.
    11Click “OK”.
    Importing Color Correction Settings
    You can import color correct settings from the files you have saved.
    For Windows
    1Click “Start” > “All Programs” > “Okidata” > “Color Correct 
    Utility” > “Color Correct Utility”.
    2Select “Import/Export Color Settings”, then click “Next”.
    3Select the MFP, then click “Next”.
    4Click [“Import”.
    5Select the file you want and then click “Open”.
    6Select the settings you want to import, then click “Import”.
    7Check that the setting is imported properly, then click “Finish”.
    For Macintosh OS X
    1Launch the Color Correct Utility.
    2Select the MFP, then click “Select PPD file”.
    3Select the PPD file and click “Open”.

    4Click “Next”.
    5Click “Manage Color Settings”.
    6Click “Import”.
    7Select the file you want and click “Open”.
    8Select the setting you want to import, then click “Import”.
    9To save the setting to the PPD file specified on step 3, click 
    “Save”.
    10Enter the user name and password with administrator rights and 
    click “OK”.
    11Click “Cancel”.
    12Check that the setting is imported properly, then quit the Color 
    Correct Utility.
    Deleting Color Correction Settings
    You can delete unnecessary setting files.
    For Windows
    1Click “Start” > “All Programs” > “Okidata” > “Color Correct 
    Utility” > “Color Correct Utility”.
    2Select “Import/Export Color Setting”, then click “Next”.
    3Select the MFP and click “Next”.
    4Select the file you want to delete, then click “Delete”.
    5Click “Yes” to confirm the deletion.
    6Check that the setting is deleted properly, then click “Finish”.
    For Macintosh OS X
    1Launch the Color Correct Utility.
    2Select the MFP and then click “Select PPD file” to select a file.
    3Select the PPD file on the MFP and click “Open”.
    4Click “Next”.
    5Click “Manage Color Settings”.

    6Select the setting you want to delete and then click “Delete”.
    7Click “Yes” to confirm the deletion.
    8To save the setting to the PPD file specified on step 3, click 
    “Save”.
    9Enter the administrator password and click “OK”.
    10Check that the setting is deleted properly, then click “Quit”.
    11On the configuration screen, click “OK”.
    Color Swatch Utility: Windows 
    only _______________________
    You can print RGB color samples on the MFP using the Color Swatch 
    Utility. The RGB values given for each RGB color sample can be 
    entered in your application software to ensure that the color printed 
    matches the color on the swatch.
    Important!
    • Macintosh cannot be used with this utility.
    • For details on how to install the utility, see the Technical 
    Reference at http://my.okidata.com.

    Printing a Color Swatch
    1Click “Start” > “All Programs” > “Okidata” > “Color Swatch 
    Utility” > “Color Swatch Utility”.
    2Click “Print”.
    3Select the MFP under “Name”.
    4Click “OK”.
    The color swatch prints.
    5Select the color you want and write down its RGB values.
    Customizing the Color Sample
    If you cannot find the color you want on the color swatch, follow the 
    procedures below to customize the color.
    1Click “Switch”.
    2Click “Detail”.
    3Adjust the three slide bars until the color you want appears.
    4Click “Close”.
    5Click “Print” 
    6Select the MFP from “Name”.
    7Click “OK”.
    Note
    If you are not satisfied with the printing result, repeat from step 
    1.
    Printing a File with the Color You Want
    For details on how to specify the color on the application, read your 
    application’s manual.
    When printing color sample’s and the file you want, use the same 
    printer driver setting values.
