DEFINITY ECS Release 8.2 ATM Installation, Upgrades, and Administration 555-233-124 Issue 1 April 2000 Installing a DEFINITY ECS ATM-PNC 3-5 Synchronization Installation and Testing 3 Installing and testing the sync hronization sp litter involves interrup ting the DS1 sig nal p rovid ed by the servic e p rovid er. Even thoug h the DS1 c irc uit p ac k should b e d own less than 5 minutes, b efore removing a working T1/E1 sp an, c ontac t the servic e p rovid er. Failure to notify the T1/E1 servic e p rovid er may result in: — The servic e p rovider loop ing the T1/E1 sp an b ac k to the sub sc rib er. — A sp an alarm b eing d etec ted at the c entral offic e and the sp an b eing taken out of servic e, send ing an AIS (b lue Alarm) to the DEFINITY ECS. The sync hronization sig nal is nec essary for testing eq uip ment and c onnec tions. Splitter descriptions Table 3-2 d esc rib es the 4 sp litter mod els and their c ap ab ilities. The d rawings show the sp litters and their c onnec tion p oints. Figure 3-5 shows a sc hematic of the 2 jump er sets and their c onnec tions for 401A, 402A, and 403A sync sp litters. Table 3-2.
