    11. Set the

    maximum numb er of b oard s has been d esignated ,

    If this ATM trunk c ircuit p ack is a synchronization

    12. Ad minister the 
    signaling groupTy p e  add signaling-group and p ress Enter. The Sig naling  
    Group  sc reen (Screen 3-3
    ) d isp lays.
    Set the following  field s (tabb ing  g oes vertic ally)
    13. Set the g roup  typ e Set the Group Type field  to atm.
    14. Typ e p ort ad d ress Typ e the D-channel (sig naling  c hannel) p ort ad d ress for 
    this new signaling group in 
    UUCSSppp sc reen at (3-dig its 
    required for port addresses). This address must match the 
    slot and  p ort numb er on an ATM-Interface circ uit p ac k.
    15. Type a name Typ e a name in the Name field  (15 alp ha-numeric  
    c haracters).
    16. Set VPI The Virtual Path Identifier (VPI) field  is set to 0 
    and  is not ad ministrab le.

    17. Set VCI Set the Virtual Channel Identifier (VCI) field  
    (32-1023). This numb er must b e uniq ue among  sig naling  
    g roup s that share the same ATM c irc uit pac k.
    NOTE:
    For a d irec t c onnec tion (two fib er-connec ted  CES 
    circuit p acks), sp ecify the same VCI at b oth end s of 
    the emulated  c irc uit. When the CES is connected  to 
    an ATM switch, the VCI spec ified  here must matc h 
    the VCI used for the PVC c reated  on the ATM switc h, 
    whic h is typ ically provided  by the ATM switch 
    ad ministrator.
    NOTE:
    The Signaling Mode field  is set to isdn-pri and  
    is not ad ministrab le.
    18. Set id le c od e Set the Idle Code field  (typ ic ally 11111111).
    19. Set interface 
    compandingSe t t h e Interface Companding field  (alaw or mulaw).

    20. Set c ountry p rotoc ol Set the Country Protocol field (Table 5-9
    ).
    21. Set p rotoc ol version Set the Protocol Version field (Table 5-9
    ).
    22. Set c irc uit typ e Set the Circuit Type field  (T1 or E1). 
    NOTE:
    Both end s must be the same. It is p referab le to set it 
    to E1 even in the United States, Canad a, or other T1 
    countries.
    23. Set c onnect Set the Connect field to pbx. Once ad ministered , busyout 
    the signaling group before changing.
    24. Set interface Set the Interface field  to user at one end  of the 
    emulated c irc uit and  to network at the other end.
    25. Set DCP/analog  
    bearer capabilitySe t t h e DCP/Analog Bearer Capability field  to 
    3.1 kHz.
    26. Set internetworking  
    messag eSe t internetworking message field  to PROGress.

    Dep end ing  on the settings in step 18:
    nIf Circuit Type field is set at T1, then c hannel 24 is 
    populated. 
    nIf Circuit Type field  is set at E1, then c hannel 16 is 
    populated.
    Other d etails ab out D-c hannels:
    nAll ports for one signaling group must be on the same 
    ATM circuit p ack (the same c irc uit pac k that the D 
    channel is on). 
    nThe D-c hannel p ort is never assigned to a trunk g roup. 
    Bec ause they are all the same, the ad ministrator d oes 
    not need to typ e in the c irc uit p ac k loc ation for eac h 
    channel. 
    nNo p ort can b e assig ned  to more than one sig naling  
    group.

    Changing the port-to-channel mapping
    Use the following  step s to c hang e the p ort-to-c hannel map p ing  for emulated 
    circuits:
    1. Type busyout atm signaling-group
     siggrpnbr and press En t e r to busyout 
    the sig naling  g roup .
    2. Type change trunk-group 
    trkgrpnbr and press En t e r.
    Remove any p ort ad ministration on sc reen 6.
    3. Type change signaling-group 
    siggrpnbr.
    Mod ify the p ort-to-c hannel map p ing .
    4. Type change trunk-group 
    trkgrpnbr and press En t e r.
    Ad d  the p orts bac k in on sc reen 6, using  new p ort numb ers, if d esired.
    5. Type release atm signaling-group 
    siggrpnbr and p ress En t e r  to release 
    the sig naling  g roup .
    The d isp lay shows the c ommand ab orts, b ut the D-c hannel and  
    B-c hannels c ome up .
    DEFINITY commands for CES
    Ad ministration c ommand s that are useful in working  with CES are listed  in Table 
    5-10.
