System Test Procedures 1. INTRODUCTION General 1.01 This Section details the system tests to be performed after the system installation (refer to Section MITL9108-093-200-NA, In- stallation) and programming (refer to Section MITL9108-093-210-NA, Customer Data Entry) have been completed. Upon completion of the tests detailed in this Section, all programming system options and features will have been verified. Reason for Reissue 1.02 This Section has been reissued to provide procedures for sys- tematically testing the SX-200@ DIGITAL PABX features and options, in 336-port and 480-port configurations. SUPERSET 3TM and SUPERSET qTM Sets 1.03 The SUPERSET 3TM and SUPERSET qTM sets are similar to stan- dard telephones in that all are subject to Class-of-Service limi- tations. To ensure that all Class-of-Service-related features are ac- tivated it is only necessary to perform the system tests for that particular Class of Service at a standard telephone. To test the actual functionality of the SUPERSET@ sets, refer to Section MITL9108-093- 106-NA, SUPERSET 3TM Set Information, and Section MITL9108-093- 107-NA, SUPERSET qTM Set Information. Section Overview 1.04 This Section consists of a series of tests of the system and provides a system confidence check on individual features. The Section is divided into a number of parts, each of which deals with a specific area or function. These are: l Maintenance Terminal Commands 0 Alarm System Tests 0 Station Features a Attendant Console Features 0 Customer Feature Tests. Page l-l
System Test Procedures Test Equipment 1.05 System tests are designed to be carried out without specialized test equipment. Associated Sections 1.06 The following Sections are also associated with system tests: a MITL9108-093-200-NA, Shipping, Receiving, and Installation 0 MITL9108-093-206-NA, Installation Forms 0 MITL9108-093-315-NA, Attendant Console Description 0 MITL9108-093-350-NA, Troubleshooting 0 MITL9108-093-35l-NA, RS-232 Maintenance Terminal. Initial System State 1.07 Before beginning system testing, the SX-200@ DIGITAL PABX must have been installed and tested to verify correct operation from a hardware standpoint. 1.08 Ensure the Maintenance Terminal and a printer have been in- stalled and function correctly. 1.09 Ensure the SX-200@ DIGITAL PABX is programmed with Cus- tomer Data appropriate to the installation. Failure to program the PABX with Customer Data will prevent full testing of the system. For information concerning Customer Data Entry, refer to Sections . MITL9108-093-206-NA, Installation Forms, and MITL9108-093-210-NA, Customer Data Entry. 1.10 Maintenance Terminal commands must be entered in accor- dance with the procedures detailed in Section MITL9108-Og3- 351-NA, RS-232 Maintenance Terminal. 1.11 Ensure stations (extensions) and Attendant Consoles have the appropriate Class of Service allocated to them for the test involved. The tests performed must be appropriate to the system installed. 1.12 Ensure the Maintenance Terminal, Attendant Consoles, and in- stalled cards do not indicate any CRITICAL, MAJOR or MINOR alarms. If alarm conditions exist, refer to Section MITLSI 08-093-350-NA, Troubleshooting. 1.13 Ensure that Maintenance and Customer Data Entry are currently not accessed by any user. Page l-2/2
System Test Procedures 2. MAINTENANCE TERMINAL COMMAND VERIFICATION General 2.01 Successful completion of the following tests will confirm that the Maintenance Terminal has been correctly installed and can access the SX-200@ DIGITAL PABX to perform directed diagnostic and maintenance commands satisfactorily for each of the different levels of entry. Section MITLSI 08-093-351 -NA, RS-232 Maintenance Termi- nal, is required for reference during these tests. Note: In verifying the functions available at the Maintenance Termi- nal, it is possible that system-generated messages unrelated to the tests being performed will appear at the Maintenance Terminal. These messages do not affect the outcome of the tests, and should be disregarded for the duration of system tests. System Access 2.02 There are five different levels of system access. Passwords for access by the various levels are programmable and alterable through Maintenance functions. Levels of access are shown in Table 2-1. Chart 2-l describes the procedures to be followed to verify the correct operation of the system access facilities. Maintenance Levels 2.03 There are several levels of maintenance functions available. These are: System Level, Diagnostics Level, Traffic Measure- ment Level, Logs Level, and Reports Level. The levels are accessed via softkeys from the Maintenance Menu. Various functions are available within each level. The following procedures test each function acces- sible within each level. Charts 2-l through 2-l 1 test the System Level functions.
