At this pint, INSTALL informs you if this is a new installation, if the system has already been installeck or if there is an installation in progress. - l If it is a new installation, INgALL starts asking the questions. l lf an installation is in progress, you can choose to continue or start over. l lf the system has already been installed, INSTALL, asks if you would like to reinstall. Reinstallation begins by erasing all stored information and messages. Do not casully reinstall. While in the INSTALL program, you can enter the UPDATE program to LIS& ADD, MOD-, or DELETE information in Configuration Bb1e-s. The INSTALL program displays a colon (:) when it is waiting for a response. You can type a dot (.) which is the UPDAT?Z prompt, followed by LIX, ADD, MODIFY, or DELETE, folIowed by the name of the table you wish to alter- The INSTALL progTaxn activates the UPDAT%Z program. When you are fmished with your alteration in UPDATE (by pressing f-1 at the colon), the IXTALL program resumes.

When you use INSTALL answer the questions with the infomtion from the Tti VP System confiition package. The list of manufacturers varies, depending on the Toshiba VP System installed. .’
Enter the number cxu-responding to the manufacturer% name and press 1-j. If the name is not listed enter 0 for other and press l-i?ZFjj The models for each manufacturer are . listed. Select the appropriate number for that model phone -em or typz 0 for other. The list of telephone system mode1 numbers varies, depending on the manufacturer%&cted. - - If your PBX type or mod@ number is not listed and you enter 0 for other, additional questions about your phcme system are aska Refer to Questions for Other Phone Systems, in this chapter, for an explanation of these questions and then return to question b. The ampany name is used for internal reports. Use the whole name or an abbreviation. The ID number is for yak company’s use, to distinguish among Te VP Systems. Crate a differ&t number for each Toshiba VP System. ‘IIe serial number of the system can be used as the system ID number, and is listed on the configuration diskette. The system ID number is also used to identjfy the system when an alarm call is made. mm The serial number is printed on the mem/UL label located on the lower rear of the cabinet. m The se&l number is printed on the UL label located on the side of the cabinet. Refer to your Tosh;%a VP System configuration package for the number of VP 100 ports on your system. Empty line = 4 is the default. P For the VP 3OOsIVP 300, questiori d is not asked. If something goes wrong with the Toshiba VP System, the *em can call and report the problem. Enter the phone number of the person who should receive that call. This number
can be on or off premise. Include access codes, if neu%sary. Enter a D for a delay, after any aces codes you may use. (The length of the delay is determined by -em I%rameter 28.) Enter a security code to be used for alI mailbox- as welI as ail new maiIboxes entered into the USER Table. This security code remains on each n&box untiI a user logs on to the mailbox and changes it- The security code assigned through this INSTALL question can be changed or deleted through System Parameter 105 - DEFAULT SECURITY CODE FOR NEW MAlLBOXE3. If the value of this parameter is modified, any existing mailboxes which already have the default security code are automatically assigned the new default security cede.
Defme every ma&ox, including iudividual maikoeq information+mly mailhes greeting mailboxes, and distribution List pilot numbers. Be sure to enter &ercept mailboxes (numbers dialed when a caller does nothing or enters q for a&stance.) l3e wording of this instruction depends upon whether your mailbox and extension numbers match. If adding users in range, you cannot cross maiIbox or extension fti digit boundaries. Refer to the USER Table chapter. Enter an empty line when the last mailbox is defined. The PORTS Table contains the PBX extension number each Tmhiba VP System port is connected to, Class Of Service for that port; whether the port is in Primary Answer (AX), Scxondaxy Answer (CX), or Message Center Answer (MX) mode; and whether the port is to be used to place message waiting and network outcalls- The last field is TEST CHANNEI- (Y/N).
