If the port has a defined call blocking value, callers are only allowed to call maikxes with the same call blocking number as the port the call came in on, or mailboxes with a call blocking value of NONE. By COS, call blocking can be configured dynamically by mailbox. If Attribute 52 is assigned to the port COS and the port does not have a call blocking number but the mailbox does, callers are only allowed to call other mailties with the same call blocking number as the fim mailbox they calkd, or mai.Iboxes with a cxll blccking value of NONE. Refer to the Feature Ilexription manual - INCOMING CALL RESTRICTION, Call Blocking, for more information. If the port the call came in on has a value for blocking, the Toshiba VP System checks this index value for the mailbox number dialed. The two values are compared. The call is not extended if the value for the mailbox index is not the same as the port value. This also aIl&vs for duplication of first digits and menu numbers, and non-matching menu and extension numbers. Index 4 - defmes the number of choices the tier can dial. Index 5 - defines the digit string inserted before the single-digit to form the mailbox number for the menu items. Callers may be. prompted to dial a specific number for the area they wish to reach; “Dial one for produo information, dial two to place an order, dial three for cusiomer service, or stay on the line for operator assistance.” Index 4 - If the caller can dial q for service, q for sales, or q for information, enter the value 3. The range is 0 - 8. Index 5 - If the caller dials q and the actual maibox is 351, enter 35 for this vaIue. Enter up to 7 digits. Be sure to create the mailboxes referred to in Indexes 4 and 5 in the USER Table. Refer to the Fenture Description manual - SINGLE DIGIT MENUS, for more information.

Definition: Number of times the system tries to mnnect to an extension associated with this ma&x when the line is busy. Usage: Continue trying a busy extension or hunt group several times in case the line becomes free. Usually done for often+usy extensions with short hold times or hunt groups with several agents. Determines the amount of time a caller waits before the Toshiba VP System returns, gives the status, and plays the greeting. Refer to the Femure Dedption manual - FIFO QUEUING,.,for information. Upon receiving a busy tone, the l’bshiba VP System makes successive calls to the busy extension until the number of retry times is reached, the extension answers, or ringback is encountered. Upon reaching the configured number of retries, the Toshiba VP System returns to the caller and informs the extension is busy. Example: Retry an Order Entry department or distribution group if all lines are busy. This offers more chance of reaching a live person before taking a message. To Configure: The default value is “0” (do not retry). Enter any number between 1 and 20 (maximum value). Conslderatlons: The time it takes to retry depends upon the phone system. 10 USE ALTERNATE TRANSFER CODES Definition: The Alternate Transfer Codes are used when transferring callers to mailboxes requiring different transfer codes than normally used. Usage: Used when transferring a call to an extension over the network, across TIE lines or to some attendant positions. Examples: l The attendant console may require different transfer codes than regular extensions.
l When the called extension is on a different PBX connected via TIE lines and different codes are needed to transfer or . reconnect on busy or ring no answer. The responses to Scripted Prompts are c~mbmed and sent as one message to the mailtwx defined by this index. Usage: Used to turn MWN ON or OFF at certain times, such as after hours and weekends, and for specific mailboxes, without affecting others. Example: Use an INFORMATION Table with this index defied as YES during business hours and NO after business hours for most mailboxes. Use , -

To Cofigure: Set the value to YE-S for the hours the greeting is to be activated. Set the value to NO for the hours it should be OFF. Considerations:This index only affects the length of a greeting or any type of message when being recorded from within a mailbox. It does not affect the length of a message sent from another mailbox orreceived from a caller. Gives the ability to define the length of messages and greetings recorded from specific mailboxes. The length caxk%e set as required for the mailbox application without affecting the recording length of other mailboxes. The maximum recording length for a mailbax isdefied in System Parameter 32 Applications may be required to provide long greetings for employees or callers, or to shorten the recording time for uxtainmailboxes Record conference calls and make them available to specified employees or callers.lTotal disk storage of the q-stem is a limiting factor. lIf this field is not defined, System Parameter 32 is the default maximum message length.
