22.2HOW THE SYSTEM PARAMETER TABLE IS USED The lbshib VP System refers to the SYSTEM PA%WETERTable for many system functions LO determine what to do, when to do it, and how often. There are three main categories of informationz.-- PBXInfomation pertaining to the specifk PBX connected to the Toshiba VP System. This information includes the phone system type, certain timing, transfer codes, and delay times - __ RangesWmltsInformation supplying ranges and limits pertinent to the Toshiba VP System functions. This information includes message waiting defaults, maximum message length, message sequence order, and prompt limits. ConfiguttionInformation describing the Toshba VP System ax.fQumtion. This includes system name, ID number, number of disks and ports, and NET defaults.
22-6 Cmfiguationhbwal-22.3 HOW TO CONFIGURE THE SYSTEM PARAMETER TABLE Many system parameters are automalically defined by answering the INSTU questions Others are automatically generated when entering the PBX type. Some may need to be mcdifjed depending upon the application. When fmished with the INSWLLprogram, enter the UPDATE program and list the &abase by typing. at the dot (.) promptz LALL - . Examine the database and modify all system parameters neceSSary to correctly configure the application. System parameters that cannot be modified are indbted 9.7 (for UST) only. These parameters cannot be altered.n Using 1NSTALL When answering the questions in the INSTAU. program, information is automatica@ transferred into the SYSTEM PARAMl33Table. Refer to the INSTALL chapter. w Using UPDATE From UPDATE, you can:l LIST a system parameterl MODIFY a system parameterAll system parameters can be LXSTED. Not all may be MODIFIED. System parameters cannot be ADDED or DELETED. The following is an example of a SYSTEM PARAMETER Table.

Modifying number of ports After you modiQ the number of ports, you must RESTART thesystem to activate additional ports Refer to PORTS TABLE chapter inthismanuaL Modify&q number of disks The number of disks installed is controlled by the disk options program- Refer to the Instmn and Maintenance manual - PROCEDURES, Hard Disk Procedures.
