    powerlightflashes throughout thecleaning cycleandstays onwhen thecleaning cycleis
     finished.
    
    Caution:
    Neverturnoffthe product duringacleaning cycleoryou may damage it.

    Check theprinted pattern tosee ifthere aregaps inthe lines.

    Ifthere arenogaps, clickFinish .

    Ifthere aregaps orthe pattern isfaint, clickClean toclean theprint head again.
     If
    you don’t see anyimprovement aftercleaning theprint head upto4times, waitatleast 6hours. Then
     try
    cleaning theprint head again. Ifquality stilldoes notimprove, oneofthe inkcartridges maybeold or
     damaged
    andneeds tobe replaced.

     Note:

    Select Maintenance .

    Select PrintHead Alignment .

     Note:
    Donot cancel printing whileyouareprinting headalignment patterns.
     After
    thealignment sheetisprinted, youseeaseries ofscreens askingyoutoselect thebest square
     in
    each pattern set.
     8.
    Check theprinted patterns andchoose thenumber representing thebest square foreach set,then
     select
    Proceed .
     9.
    After youhave selected thenumber forallthe sets, select Done.

    canalign theprint head using autility onyour Windows orMac computer.
     1.
    Load afew sheets ofplain paper inthe cassette (orincassette 1ifyour product hastwocassettes).

    Windows: AccesstheWindows desktopandright-click theproduct iconinthe Windows taskbar.

    OS X10.6/10.7/10.8/10.9 :In the Apple menuorthe Dock, select System Preferences .Select
     Printers
    &Scanners ,Print &Fax orPrint &Scan ,select yourproduct, andselect Options &
     Supplies
    .Select Utilityandselect OpenPrinter Utility.

    OS X10.5 :In the Apple menuorthe Dock, select System Preferences .Select Print&Fax ,
     select
    yourproduct, andselect OpenPrintQueue .Select Utility.
     3.
    Select PrintHead Alignment .
     4.
    Click Next,then clickPrint toprint analignment sheet.
     Note:
    Donot cancel printing whileyouareprinting ahead alignment pattern.

    Check theprinted pattern andfollow theinstructions onthe screen tochoose thenumber
     representing
    thebest printed pattern foreach set.

    After choosing eachpattern number, clickNext.
     •
    Ifno patterns arealigned inone ormore ofthe sets, choose theclosest oneineach setand click
     Realignment
    .Then printanother alignment sheetandcheck it.
     Note:
    ClickSkip(where available) ifyou want toskip aparticular alignment sheet.

    When youaredone, clickFinish .

    not use oilorother lubricants insidetheproduct orlet water getinside it.Close therear paper feed

    Turn offthe product.
     2.
    Unplug thepower cable.
     3.
    Disconnect anyconnected cables.
     4.
    Remove allthe paper fromtheproduct.
     5.
    Clean theouter caseandcontrol panelwithasoft, drycloth. Donot use liquid orchemical cleansers.
     6.
    Clean thepaper cassette(s) usingasoft brush.
     7.
    Clean thescanner glassandtheglass areaonthe leftwith asoft, lint-free cloth(microfiber is
     recommended),
    moistenedwithalittle glass cleaner.
     Caution:
    Donot spray glasscleaner directlyonthe glass anddonot press theglass surface with
     any
    force.

    Open theADF cover anduseasoft, dry,lint-free cloth(microfiber isrecommended), toclean the
     rollers
    andtheinterior ofthe ADF.

    product fromprinting.

    Turn offthe product.

    Liftupthe scanner unit.
     3.
    Make suretheprint head isin the home position onthe right.
     4.
    Secure theinkcartridge holdertothe case withtape asshown.
     5.
    Lower thescanner unit.
     6.
    Remove allthe paper fromtheproduct.
     7.
    Unplug thepower cable.

    Close therear paper feedslotand output tray.
     10.
    Place theproduct inits original packing materials, ifpossible, oruse equivalent materialswith
     cushioning
    aroundtheproduct. Makesurethebox adequately protectstheproduct controlpanel.
     Keep
    theproduct levelduring transportation. Ifprint quality hasdeclined whenyouprint again, cleanand
     align
    theprint head.
