Removing
andInstalling InkCartridges
 Make
sureyouhave yourreplacement cartridgeshandybefore youbegin. Youmust install new
 cartridges
immediately afterremoving theoldones.
 Caution:
Leaveyouroldcartridges inthe printer untilyouareready toreplace themtoprevent theprint
 head
nozzles fromdrying out.Donot open inkcartridge packages untilyouareready toinstall theink.

arevacuum packedtomaintain reliability.
 1.
Turn onyour product.
 •
Ifan ink cartridge isexpended, youseeamessage onthe LCD screen. Notewhich cartridges
 need
tobe replaced, thenselect Proceed andfollow theinstructions onthe screen.
 •
Ifyou arereplacing acartridge beforeyouseeamessage onthe LCD screen, pressthe home
 button
andselect Setup>Maintenance >Ink Cartridge Replacement .
 2.
Liftupthe scanner unit.
 Caution:
Donot touch theflatwhite cable inside theprinter. Donot liftthe scanner unitwhile the
 document
coverisopen.

3.
Open thecartridge cover.
 Note:
Dispose ofused cartridges carefully.Donot take theused cartridge apartortry torefill it.
 Warning:
Ifink gets onyour skin, wash itthoroughly withsoap andwater. Ifink gets intoyour eyes,
 flush
them immediately withwater. Ifink gets intoyour mouth, spititout and seeadoctor rightaway.
 Keep
inkcartridges outofthe reach ofchildren.
 4.
Squeeze thetabonthe cartridge andliftthe cartridge straightuptoremove it.

5.
Gently shakethenew cartridge fourorfive times asshown. Thenremove thecartridge fromthe
 package.

Caution:
Donot remove anylabels orseals, orink will leak. Donot touch thegreen chiponthe
 cartridge.
Installthenew cartridge immediately afterremoving theoldone; ifyou donot, theprint
 head
maydryoutand beunable toprint.
 6.
Remove onlytheyellow tape.

7.
Insert thenew cartridge intotheholder andpush itdown untilitclicks intoplace.
 8.
Close thecartridge coverandpush itdown untilitclicks intoplace.
 9.
Select Check onthe LCD screen tomake surethecartridge orcartridges areinstalled correctly.
 Caution:
Ifyou seeamessage thatanink cartridge isinstalled incorrectly, liftup the scanner unit,
 open
thecartridge cover,andpress theinkcartridge downuntilitclicks intoplace. Thenclose the
 cartridge
cover.
 10.
Close thescanner unit.

product startspriming theink. This takes afew minutes. Whenyouseeacompletion message
 on
the LCD screen, inkreplacement iscomplete.
 Note:
Donot turn offthe product whilepriming oryou willwaste ink.
 Caution:
Ifyou remove anink cartridge forlater use,protect theinksupply areafromdirtand dust and
 store
itin the same environment asthe printer. Thevalve inthe inksupply portisdesigned tocontain
 any
excess ink,butdonot touch theinksupply portorsurrounding area.Always storeinkcartridges with
 the
label facing up;donot store cartridges upside-down.

Click OK.
