8. Use thedisplayed keypadorthe buttons onthe product toenter yourfaxnumber, upto20 characters. Press whenyouaredone. 9. Onthe Distinctive RingSetting screen, doone ofthe following: • Ifyou have subscribed toadistinctive ringservice fromyourtelephone company,selectProceed . Then, select thering pattern tobe used forincoming faxes.Gotostep 12. • Ifyou donot have distinctive ringservice, selectSkip,then gotothe next step. Note: • Distinctive ringservice allowsyoutohave several phonenumbers onone phone line.Each number isassigned adifferent ringpattern. Youcanuseone number forvoice callsandanother for fax calls. Select thering pattern assigned tofax calls inthe DRD Setting. • Ifyou select Onorone ofthe ring patterns otherthanAll,Receive Modeisautomatically setto Auto . 10. Onthe Receive ModeSetting screen, selectYesifyou have connected anexternal telephone or answering machinetothe product, andthen gotothe next step. Otherwise selectNo,then goto step 12.(Receive Modeisautomatically settoAuto .) Note: When noexternal telephone isconnected tothe product, Receive Modemustbeset toAuto ; otherwise youcannot receive faxes. 11. Onthe next Receive ModeSetting screen, selectYestoreceive faxesautomatically orselect Noto receive faxesmanually. Note: Ifyou have connected anexternal answering machineandselected toreceive faxes automatically, makesuretheRings toAnswer settingiscorrect. Ifyou select toreceive faxes manually, youneed toanswer everycalland usetheproduct ’s control paneloryour phone to receive faxes. 12. Onthe Confirm Settings screen,confirmthedisplayed settingsandselect Proceed .(Press the back button ifyou need tocorrect orchange thesettings.) 13.
