    DEFINITY INADS
    The DEFINITY ECS Initialization and  Administration System (INADS) p rovid es 
    analog  loop bac k c onnec tions and  PARTNER® c onnec tions for remote alarming 
    and  maintenanc e when d irec t c onnec tion to the p ub lic  network is not p ossib le.
    NOTE:
    These instruc tions are for DEFINITY ECS Release 7r or later systems using  
    the TN1648/B system ac c ess/maintenanc e (SYSAM) c irc uit pac k. ISDN is 
    req uired .
    Analog Loopback 
    Analog  loop b ac k c onnec ts the INADS p ort to an analog  station p ort. It switc hes 
    the c all throug h the AUX c onnec tor on the p roc essor c arrier of the DEFINITY 
    ECS, ac ross an analog  line c irc uit p ac k, and  out to the p ub lic  network. Direc t 
    Inward  Dialing  (DID) is op tional.
    Installing INADS Analog Loopback on a 
    Standard-Reliability System
    1. Connec t the INADS tip  and ring  p ort from the AUX c onnec tor to an analog  
    station p ort via the MDF. See Fig ure 45
    . Use wire pair 50 and 25.
    2. If you are using  p ower-fail transfer, c onnec t the 808A2 transfer p anel 
    b etween the INADS c onnec tion to the station and  the INADS c onnec tion to 
    the loop -start trunk.

    Administering DEFINITY ECS for INADS
    NOTE:
    Ad d 2 p auses in front of the d ial string  when using  c ut-throug h trunks. 
    Pauses are not required if using ARS.
    1. Type change system-parameters maintenance
     and press 
    En t e r.
    2. For hig h reliab ility systems, in the see interchange: 
    field, type daily
     
    and  p ress 
    En t e r. This is d one in c ase 1 of the c onnec tions b etween the 2 
    TN1648B c irc uit p ac ks is d own. This assures that within 24 hours the 
    working  c onnec tion is available to report alarms.
    3. Type add station
     
    number or next
     and press En t e r.
    4. In the Type:
     field , enter 500
     (rotary analog telep hone).
    5. In the Port:
     field , enter the p ort numb er for this line.
    6. For hig h reliab ility systems, rep eat the ab ove step s for the sec ond  analog  
    line. Ad minister the 2 stations as p art of a TEG (terminating  extension 
    group).

     field, enter the TEG extension numb er.

    Partner Installation
    The PARTNER system c onnec ts the DEFINITY ECS INADS p ort to an outg oing  
    c entral offic e (CO) line and  is p rog rammed  to seize the outsid e line when INADS 
    seizes an insid e PARTNER station line. 
    Listed  b elow are the 2 typ es of PARTNER p latforms:

    PARTNER Atlas platforms with U.S. firmware and a wide input power 
    sup p ly (WIPS) that allows a universal p ower sup p ly. The Sp ain p latform 
    c onforms to the United States/Atlas platform
    n
    European p latforms that foc us on eastern Europ e and  the United  King d om

    1. Connec t a system telep hone to station 10 on the PARTNER system.
    2. Connec t a stand ard  RJ-11 telephone line c ord  from the PARTNER CO line 
    to the CO line p rotec tor.
    3. Connec t the INADS tip and  ring p ort from the AUX c onnec tor to the tip /ring  
    p air of CO line p ort 1 on the PARTNER via the MDF. See Fig ure 48
    . Use 
    wire p air 50 and  25 on the MDF.

    1. Selec t station 11-15 as the INADS p ort c onnec tion.

    Set Incoming Line Ringing (All Platforms)
    1. Press the rig ht interc om (Central Tel Prog ram) b utton.

    c onnec ted  to the INADS p ort.
    3. Press the line 1 b utton (ab ove left interc om) until the LED c hang es to a 
    stead y g reen. This allows inc oming  c alls to ring  on line 1.
    4. If AUDIX is installed , p ress the line 2 b utton until the LED c hang es to a 
    stead y g reen. This allows inc oming  c alls to ring  on line 2.
    5. Enter #
     to return to the start of the p rog ramming  mode.
    6. Press Feature, followed by 0 0 to exit the programming mode.
    DEFINITY ECS Administration
    By d efault, the INADS p ort automatic ally seizes an outg oing  trunk on the 
    PARTNER system. Therefore, a “9”  is not required in the switch dial string.
