Miscellane ous Int erface Unit (M IS U) I nst allation 2 -31 Installing the Serial Interface Unit (SIU) 1 . Unpac k th e S IU from it s a nti st at ic co nduc t ive ba g in th e pa c ki ng box. There sho uld also be a plastic bag with two plastic standoffs and two metal s cre ws. 2. Pus h the two standof fs into the hole s on the SIU boa rd. (Refe r to Fi gur e 2-1 4.) 3. Locate the CONN1 connector a nd the two screw h oles (ou tlined) on the MISU. 4. Pus h the SIU b oard onto the CONN 1 con nector and be sure it is seated correctly. 5 . From th e b ack s ide of t he MI SU boar d, i nse r t the t wo me t al scr ews into the holes and tighten them into the bottom of each standoff to secure. This com pletes the installa tion proced ure for the SIU.

In sta l li ng t he DT RU Modu le 1. Unpack the DTRU Module from its antistatic conductive bag in the pack ing box. 2. Locate the CON1 and CON2 connectors on the DTRU module. 3. Locate the CN 1 and C N2 conne ctors on the LCOB (outline d). 4. Pos ition the D TRU module s o that the CON 2 and C ON1 conne ctors m atch up with the CN1 a nd C N2 connectors on the LCOB respectively. 5. Pus h the DT RU module onto th ese conne ctors mak ing sure it is seated properly. Refer toFig u re 2- 15.This completes the installation procedure for the DTRU Modul e.

2-36 CO/ PBX Conne ctions DI D I nt er f ac e B oa r d ( DI D B ) The Direct In-Dial Interface board (DIDB) provides four (4) analog DID CO interface ports. The DIDB can be optionally equipped with a DTMF Receiver Unit (DTRU) daughter board to detect DTMF tones. In sta l li ng t he DT RU Modu le 1. Locate the CN 1 and C N2 conne ctors on the LCOB (outline d). 4. CO/PBX Conn ections 2 -39 T- 1 In t e r f a c e B o a r d ( T 1 I B ) The T1IB provides the T-1 (1.544Mbps, 24-Voice Channel) digital interface circuit, control circuitry, a nd s ynchronous clock control circuits. DTMF tone detection units can be installed optionally on the T1IB. The T1IB has 8 LED s on the f ront e dge of the PCB which ind icates e rrors of T- 1 line, in- use st at us, and synch ronous clo ck en abl e s ta tus . The T 1IB contains 2 s witche s (S W1 and SW 3) and 3 connectors (C ON1, CON2 and CON3). T he clock selection s witch is us ed for control synchronous clock. T he L ine Build -Out s witch is controlle d by distance be twe en theTr iad 1/ 2Sys te ms and a C SU a nd S W1 #4 i s use d for loop back control.
