    then be reviewed by authorized personnel to aid in system

    The CONFIG utility to allow technicians to take specific DTMF receivers
    in/out of serv ice. T his is us eful fo r troublesh ooting D TMF receiver
    pr oble ms to is ola te a spe c if ic D TM F re c ei ve r t hat m ay b e f aul ty.

    slot location, receiver status, and state of the receiver.

    The Remote Monitor f eature p rov ides remote a ccess to the ins ta lled
    system for diagnostic purposes. These capabilities benefit Service
    pe rson nel e nabling them to supp ort the end use r re motely. D if ferent
    le ve ls of a c c ess , v ia pas swor d, all ows aut hor iz ed pe rs onnel t o t ra c e,
    monitor and upload critical information directly from theTriad 1/2/3
    Sys tems. Th is provid es a m ore accurate mea ns of acquiring sys tem
    inf orma tion that lea ds to a quick resolu tion of problems th at may occur.
    This is all done without interfering with ongoing call processing or
    norm al sys te m op er at ion, and in many case s may be per for me d wi tho ut
    a site visit. The built-in 2400 baud modem is used for remote access.

    The Remote Monitor feature, like Remote Maintenance, is entered via a
    si x-char act er a lph anume ri c st r ing. T he p ass word pr ompt i s g ive n b y
    pr ess ing t he <
    r> key at the device connected to the SIU or SIU2 Module.

    r> key. Proper entry of the pa ssword results in the
    mon>prompt. The Remote Maintenance password is: {ETRACE}

    Dump Memory Data
    Three options allow the memory structure to bedumpe dfor viewing.
    The three options are entered as follows:
    c[c]–Dump CO Li ne memor y structur e
    s[s]–Dump Station memory structure
    d[a][a]–Dump a memory address structure

    1. To enable an Event Trace, typet(space bar).
    2. Then type of trace desired [d], wheredi s de t er min ed as foll ows:

    M = Miscellaneous State event trace
    P=PulseCodedModulation(PCM)traceseventsassociatedwith

    S = Station (STA) States (traces events associated with Station activity)
    E = E rr or Mes sage s (tr ace s e rr or mes sag es)
    Q = Queue (QUE) Events (traces queuing events, e.g.: DTMF receiver,
    UCD, LC R, e tc.)
    D = D evi ce Comma nd (tra ces command s to pe r iph er al dev ice s).
    3. Then enter the specific board, CO line or Station number of the trace
    desired or typeal l,ifallboard’s, CO line’s or Station’sevents are
    desired.
    1–31 = Boa rd KSU ca rd slot position (CPU = 1)

    4. Then press to enable the trace. A similar screen displays:

    5. To disableorturnoffaparticulartracemode,DONOTENTERa
    specific board, CO Line, or Station Number (i.e.,
    tsto disable station event trace).
    6 . To have e vent t ra c es dis pl ayed on t he sc r ee n, you must f ir st e xit t he
    MONitor mod e b y typingXat t hemon>pro mpt . Aft er you e xi t the
    event(s), the trace begins as shown inFi gur e 5-8.
    Modify Memory Command
    The Modify Me mory Co mmand is for E ngine ering Us e only.

    B a ud Rat e Com m a nd
    The Baud Rate command provides a co nven ie nt mea ns f or ch anging the
    baud ra te, for the RS -232C port located on the Master Proces sor Board
    (MPB), while in the Monitor mode. To change the baud rate type [B] plus
    the d esi r ed baud ra te , t he n t he ent er ke y.
    Exit the Monitor Mode
    The Exit command terminates the current Remote Monitor
    enable/disable session. If Event(s) Trace have been or are still enabled,
    the event records are displayed only after exiting the MONitor mode. The
    Exit command format is:m o n> x
