Networking Port Alarms

Networking Port Test Results
Th e  test network-port  c ommand  runs the d efault (short) network 
p ort test, whic h is a set of non-intrusive tests verifying  b asic  op eration of the 
network port and  assoc iated  DSP.
Tab le 6-3 lists network p ort results

NOTE:
Th e  short test c hec ks most of the software and  the hard ware involved  in the 
test.
Th e  
test network-port  long command runs the long network port 
test, whic h resets the network p ort and assoc iated  DSP and  then verifies b asic  
op eration of the network p ort and  assoc iated  DSP.

The following alarms may be raised  on resourc e MACHINE, c orresp ond ing to a 
sp ec ific  remote mac hine. In all c ases, the error log  resourc e is MACHINE. In the 
alarm, event, and  error log s, the loc ation for MACHINE resourc es is the remote 
mac hine’s voic e id  as d isp layed on the list mac hine form. Alarms ag ainst remote 
mac hines b elong  to alarm orig ination c ateg ory NETWORK.
