Typing accessibility options
Change or delete a Word Substitution entry
1.On the home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon.
2.Click Typing and Input > Word Substitution.
3.Highlight a Word Substitution entry.
4.Press the  key. 
 • To change the Word Substitution entry, click Edit. Change the entry. Press the  key > Save.
•To delete the Word Substitution entry, click Delete.
Type text using the predictive input method
When you are typing text, do any of the following:
 • To select the highlighted suggestion and start typing a new word, press the  key on the keyboard.
•To select the highlighted suggestion and continue typing, click the word.
•To ignore the suggestions, keep typing.
Change your typing style
You can change how your BlackBerry smartphone recognizes what you type by selecting a typing style.
1.On the home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon.
2.Click Typing and Language > Typing.
3.For a keyboard, do one of the following:
•To turn off all typing assistance, change the Style field to Direct.
•To set your smartphone to suggest word predictions as you type, change the Style field to Predictive.

							Glossary
certificate
A BlackBerry smartphone uses a certificate as a digital document that binds the identity and public key of a 
certificate subject. Each certificate has a corresponding private key that is stored separately. A certification 
authority signs the certificate to indicate that it is authentic and can be trusted. This may also be called a digital 
certificate.
certification authority
A certification authority (CA) is a trusted third-party organization that verifies the information or identity of 
computers on a network and issues digital certificates.
CRL server
A BlackBerry smartphone uses a certificate revocation list (CRL) server to check the most recently published  revocation status of a certificate. Certification authorities publish certificate revocation lists on CRL servers.
DSML-enabled server
A BlackBerry smartphone uses a Directory Service Markup Language (DSML) enabled server to search for  and download certificates.
IT policy
An IT policy consists of various IT policy rules that control the security features and behavior of BlackBerry 
smartphones, BlackBerry PlayBook tablets, the BlackBerry Desktop Software, and the BlackBerry Web Desktop  Manager.
LDAP-enabled server
A BlackBerry smartphone uses an LDAP-enabled server to search for and download certificates and PGP keys.
mass storage mode
Mass storage mode enables users to transfer files between a media card and their computer when they connect their BlackBerry smartphone to their computer.
personal certificate
A personal certificate is a certificate that a certification authority assigns to a user.
personal PGP key
A personal PGP key consists of a PGP public key and PGP private key.
PIN
Each BlackBerry smartphone has a unique personal identification number (PIN). If you know a contact's PIN, you  can use it to add them to your BlackBerry Messenger, or you can send them a PIN message. You can find your PIN 
by typing mypin in any text field.
private key
BlackBerry smartphones use private keys to sign email messages or PIN messages that users send and to decrypt  email messages that users receive. Private key information is not distributed publicly.

A root certificate is a self-signed certificate and usually belongs to a certification authority.
tap
A tap is a user interaction with a touch screen, using one finger to quickly touch the screen. Some interactions 
require the user to tap and briefly hold a finger on the screen. For example, to access your voicemail, tap and hold 
the 1 key in the phone app. A tap also describes the interaction between two NFC-enabled devices. For example, 
tap the back of your BlackBerry smartphone against a smart tag.
touch
A touch is a user interaction with a touch screen that is usually combined with another action, using one finger. For 
example, touch and drag, or touch and hold.
