STC 7764 AUDIO SYSTEM DEFENDER 5 LAND ROVER ACCESSORIES DOOR SPEAKERS - Both sides15 Remove door check strap cover - 1 screw. 16 Measure and mark A post as shown and drill a ø3mm pilot hole. 17 Measure and mark lower the A post cover as shown and drill a ø3mm pilot hole through the lower A post cover, insulation and into the A post. 18 Drill out top hole on the A post to ø13mm. 19 Drill out the bottom the hole to ø16mm 20 Remove swarf, de-bur and paint exposed metal with LR touch-up paint. 21 Remove 3 screws from lower A post cover. 22 Remove cover, disconnect interior light switch and pull back insulation to expose lower A post. 23 Prize open caps and remove door handle - 2 screws. 24 Using a small screwdriver carefully remove spring clip from window winder 25 Carefully remove door locking knob surround 26 Remove door lever surround - 1 screw. 27 Remove 2 fixings from door panel. 28 Carefully remove door panel by releasing fir tree fixings. 29 Position the speaker bezel (supplied in kit) on door panel, locating the tabs in the panel grooves 30 Mark the speaker aperture and 4 fixings holes. 31 Remove speaker bezel and drill 4 ø2mm screw holes. 32 For the speaker aperture use ø100mm hole cutter. 33 Drill a ø16mm hole on the end of the door panel to correspond with the ø16mm hole on the lower A post. 4 LAND ROVER ACCESSORIES STC 7764 AUDIO SYSTEM DEFENDER DISARMING ALARM SYSTEMTo disarm the alarm system, turn the ignition switch to position 2, and then back to 0. This will allow you 15 seconds to disconnect battery.PREPARATION1 Prize out screw cover and remove grab handle - 2 screws. 2 Remove both air vent covers - 2 screws each. 3 Release instrument binicle - 4 screws. 4 Remove driver ’s instrument panel - 2 screws. 5 Release heater control panel - 2 screws. 6 Remove dash top panel - 5 screws. 7 Remove centre instrument panel - 2 screws, nuts 4 washers. 8 Remove centre dash cowel - 2 screws. 9 Remove fuse box cover - 2 thumb screws. 10 Remove dash finisher rail - 3 screws. 11 Remove wiper motor cover - 3 screws. 12 Remove inner dash panel by carefully disen- gaging fir tree fixings - 2 large, 5 small. 13 Remove upper wiper motor cover. 14 Remove dash tray.OPTIONAL DOOR SPEAKERS This section is for fitment of optional door speak- ers STC 7765. STC 7764 AUDIO SYSTEM DEFENDER 7 LAND ROVER ACCESSORIES DASH SPEAKERS Passenger side12 Position speaker spacer on the wiper motor cover so the narrowest part of the taper is uppermost and central. 13 Mark the fixing holes and speaker aperture. 14 Remove speaker spacer and drill 4 screw holes ø 2mm 15 For the speaker aperture use ø100mm hole cutter. 16 Remove swarf, de-bur and paint exposed metal work with LR touch-up paint.DASH SPEAKERS Drivers side17 Position the speaker spacer centrally on the lower dash panel with the narrowest part of the taper uppermost. 18 Mark the speaker aperture/fixing holes. WARNING: 19Prior to drilling the speaker aperture and fix- ing holes, check that all wires behind the dash panel are moved aside (access through dri- ver ’s instrument. panel aperture) 20 Drill 4 screw holes ø 2mm and the speaker aperture to ø100mm with hole cutter. 21 Remove swarf, de-bur and paint exposed metal work with LR touch-up paint.DASH SPEAKER HARNESS1 Locate the Dash Speaker Harness (supplied in kit) and position the 8 way connector above the centre instrument panel.Optional Door Speaker Connections2 Remove the anti back-out and connect the Door Speaker Harness pins (if to be fitted) to the Dash Speaker Harness connector as shown. 6 LAND ROVER ACCESSORIES STC 7764 AUDIO SYSTEM DEFENDER 34 Fit 4 spire clips (supplied in kit) over screw holes on door panel NOTE: Trim the rear face of the door panel to fit.DOOR SPEAKER HARNESS1 Locate the Door Speaker Harness (supplied in kit) and position the 4 connector pins above the centre instrument panel. 2 Route the pink and pink/black wires across the dash, through the instrument binicle and down to the drilled hole in the lower A post. Feed the wire through the ø13mm hole and out of the ø16mm hole. 3 Route the yellow and yellow/black wires across the dash panel to the lower LH A post. Feed the wire through the ø13mm hole and out of the ø16mm hole. 4 Route the speaker wires through protective sheathing (supplied in kit) and position the sheathing in the two holes to avoid wire chaffing (both sides). 5 Route the speaker wires through the insula- tion and A post cover (both sides). 6 Refit A post cover, insulation and and interior light switch using existing fixings (both sides). 7 Reposition both door panels. 8 Route the speaker wire through the convolut- ed grommet (supplied in kit), through the ø16mm hole in the door panel and out through the speaker aperture (both doors). 9 Refit door panel fixings and replace door han- dle, door lever, window winder and locking knob surround (both doors). 10 Attach the speaker wires to the speaker and fit the bezel, speaker and grille to both door panels with 4 screws (supplied in kit). 11 Fit the convoluted grommet to the door panel and A post, ensuring a watertight fit (both Doors). 34 1 3 2 2 4 13 14 17 2 19 34 8 11 Pink Pink/Black Yellow/BlackYellow
`STC 7764/65- AUDIO STSTEM DEFENDER 9 LAND ROVER ACCESSORIES POWER HARNESS1 Position the 8 way Power Harness connector (supplied in kit) above the centre instrument panel. 2 Locate orange/white wire with bullet connec- tor on the Power Harness and connect the to the orange/white wire (ignition feed) taped back to the main vehicle harness at the centre of the dash. 3 Locate the red wire (permanent feed) and black wire (earth) on the Power Harness and route through lower dash to the fuse box area. 4 Connect the black wire to the screw securing the fuse box. 5 Locate the purple wire (permanent feed) on the main vehicle harness exiting the fuse box. 6 Cut the purple wire and attach 2 male bullet connectors. 7 Fit both ends of the purple wire to either end of the double bullet connector (supplied in kit). 8 Fit the red wire on the Power Harness to the double bullet connector. 9 Insulate the red/orange wire and tape back to the harnessHEAD UNIT10 Refit dash tray. NOTE: Ensure the two 8 way connectors and aerial connector are routed through hole. 11 Reposition the dash inner panel and refit fir tree fixings. 12 Position the Radio Housing centrally on the dash and mark both fixing holes. 13 Remove housing and drill both holes to ø5mm. NOTE: Drill through both dash tray and bulkhead. 14 De-bur and treat exposed metal work with LR touch up paint. 8 LAND ROVER ACCESSORIES STC 7764 AUDIO SYSTEM DEFENDER DASH SPEAKER HARNESS Continued3 Route the brown/white and black dash speaker wires to the drivers side through the instrument binicle and down to the speaker aperture. 4 Attach the wires to the speaker and fit the speaker and spacer to the dash panel with 4 screws (supplied in kit). 5 Route the brown/black and black dash speak- er wires along the dash tray to the wiper motor . NOTE: Refitting the wiper motor cover will be car- ried out after the refitting the dash panels.AERIAL The aerial will be fitted to the drive de front wing (RHD shown). 6 Measure and mark wing as shown 7 Drill a ø2mm pilot hole and using a hole cut- ter enlarge to ø25mm. 8 De-bur and paint exposed metal with LR touch up paint. 9 Fit the aerial from under the wing and secure with its fixings. 10 Fit the aerial clip to the top of the inner wheel arch bracket - screw, washer and locut nut (supplied in kit). 11 Secure the bottom of the aerial to the clip and route up to the bulkhead grommet. 12 Make a small incision and route the wire through the grommet to the centre instrument panel. 10 LAND ROVER ACCESSORIES STC 7764 AUDIO SYSTEM DEFENDER 15 Cut an access hole in the centre instrument cowel as shown. 16 Refit cowel to the dash with existing fixings. and route the two 8 way connectors and aerial through the aperture. 17 Fit the radio cage to the housing (supplied in kit) and bend the tabs on each side to secure. 18 Reposition the radio housing and route the two 8 way connectors and aerial through the apertute. 19 Insert radio mounting bung (supplied in kit) to the rear of the radio housing.REFIT1 Attach the speaker wires to the passenger ’s speaker and re-fit the wiper motor cover to the dash panel with 3 screws. 2 Ensure the lower wiper motor cover is located correctly in the slot of the upper wiper motor cover. 3 Refit dash finisher rail - 3 screws. 4 Refit fuse box cover - 2 thumb screws 5 Refit centre instrument panel and secure instrument cowel - 2 screws, nuts and 4 wash- ers. 6 Refit dash top panel - 5 screws. NOTE: Ensure radio housing lip is secured under dash panel. 7 Secure radio housing - 2 fir tree fixings 8 Refit heater control panel - 2 screws. 9 Refit driver ’s instrument panel - 2 screws. 10 Refit instrument binicle - 4 screws. 11 Refit air vent covers - 2 screws each. 12 Refit grab handle - 2 screws plus cover. 13 Fit the two 8 way connectors and aerial to the head unit and slide into the housing. Press in firmly. 14 Reconnect battery. RADIO OPERATION Refer to user manual for operation and security code. 15172 18 18 19
SYSTEME AUTORADIO-STEREO STC 7764 DEFENDER 13 ACCESSOIRES LAND ROVER HAUT-PARLEURS DE PORTE - Les deux côtés15 Retirer le couvercle de la bride de retenue de porte (1 vis). 16 Mesurer et marquer le montant A comme indiqué sur le schéma, puis percer un trou pilote à un ø de 3mm. 17 Mesurer et marquer le recouvrement du montant A inférieur comme indiqué sur le schéma, puis percer un trou pilote à un ø de 3mm dans le recou- vrement du montant A inférieur, l’isolation et dans le montant A. 18 Percer le trou supérieur du montant A jusqu’à un ø de 13mm. 19 Percer le trou inférieur jusqu’à un ø de 16 mm. 20 Eliminer les ébarbures, ébavurer et recouvrir le métal dénudé d’une couche de peinture de retouche LR. 21 Retirer les 3 vis du recouvrement du montant A inférieur, 22 Retirer le recouvrement, débrancher le commuta- teur de l’éclairage de l’habitacle et rabattre l’isola- tion pour exposer le montant A inférieur. 23 Déclipser les caches et retirer la poignée de porte (2 vis). 24 A l’aide d’un petit tournevis, retirer le collier à ressort de la manivelle de lève-vitre. 25 Retirer avec précaution le pourtour du bouton de blocage de la porte. 26 Retirer le pourtour du levier de porte (1 vis). 27 Retirer les 2 fixations du panneau de porte. 28 Retirer avec précaution le panneau de porte en dégageant les agrafes “sapin”. 29 Placer le cuvelage du haut-parleur (fourni dans le kit) sur le panneau de porte, en introduisant les languettes dans les rainures du panneau. 30 Marquer la découpe du haut-parleur et percer 4 trous de fixation. 31 Retirer le cuvelage du haut-parleur et percer 4 trous pour vis d’un ø de 2mm. 32 Pour l’ajourage pour haut-parleur, utiliser un cutter à trou pour un ø de 100mm. 33 Percer un trou d’un ø de 16mm à l’extrémité du panneau de porte pour le faire correspondre au trou d’un ø de 16mm prévu sur le montant inférieur A. 23 28 26 29 33 2524 16 17 27 45mm10mm 12 ACCESSOIRES LAND ROVER SYSTEME AUTORADIO-STEREO STC 7764 DEFENDER DESARMEMENT DU SYSTEME D’ALARMEPour désarmer le système d’alarme, tourner la clé de contact à la position 2 puis revenir à 0. Vous disposez alors de 15 secondes pour débrancher la batterie.PREPARATION1 Extraire le cache-vis et retirer la manette (2 vis). 2 Déposer les couvercles des deux buses de prise d’air (2 vis chacun). 3 Dégager la visière instruments (4 vis). 4 Déposer le tablier instruments du conducteur (2 vis). 5 Dégager le panneau de commande du chauffage (2 vis). 6 Déposer le panneau supérieur de la planche de bord (5 vis). 7 Déposer la partie centrale du tablier instruments (2 vis, 2 écrous, 4 rondelles). 8 Déposer la joue d’auvent centrale de la planche de bord (2 vis). 9 Déposer le couvercle de la boîte à fusibles (2 vis à ailettes). 10 Déposer la barre de finition de la planche de bord (3 vis). 11 Déposer le couvercle du moteur d’essuie-glace (3 vis). 12 Déposer le panneau intérieur de la planche de bord. Pour cela, dégager avec précaution les agrafes “sapin” (2 grosses, 5 petites). 13 Déposer le couvercle supérieur du moteur d’essuie-glace. 14 Déposer le bac de la planche de bord.HAUT-PARLEURS DE PORTE EN OPTIONCette section décrit la pose des haut-parleurs de porte STC 7765 en option.
