1 - 13 1.4 Screen Composition This manual contains multiple methods for executing a function. For implementing each method, explanation is given using the naming described below. (1) Menu bar and Command Menu bar is a bar on which menus such as “File (F)” and “Edit (E)” are arranged. Commands are contained in each menu. In the case shown in Fig. 1-11, an expression of “Scan (S) command of Spectrophotometer (S) menu” is used. A menu or command is selectable by 2 methods. • Move the mouse pointer to a menu and click on it. • Key in the alphabetic letter after a menu name with the Alt key held down. 1 - 14 (2) Toolbar and Tool button Toolbar is a row of tool buttons such as and tool buttons provide shortcuts for common menu commands. 1 - 15 (3) Dialog box When you click the button of Measurement toolbar, a small window as shown in Fig. 1-13 is presented. This window is called a “dialog box.” Fig. 1-13 Dialog Box (4) Tab Tabs are used in the Analysis Method window or Property window. Click a tab for changing display. Each tab contains setting items. 1 - 16 (5) Spin button This button is used for inputting a numeral. Click or for setting a numeral. However, a value below decimal point cannot be set. Such a value must be input with the keyboard. (7) Check box For turning on a check box, put a check mark in it by clicking. The check box is then set in the status. For turning off the check box, click it again to remove the check mark. 1 - 17 The FL Solutions program have two kinds of windows; monitor window and data processing window. Set the monitor window active for measurement, or the data processing window for data processing. Display of the peak table can be turned ON/OFF from the View menu. 1 - 21 The FL Solutions program provides five kinds of toolbars as shown below. You can select a command by pulling down each menu from the menu bar. But for quick and easy operation, it is advisable to use these tool buttons. • Standard Toolbar Has buttons related to printing and file handling. • Instrument Toolbar (displayed in monitor window) Has buttons related to spectrophotometer control such as wavelength drive and baseline measurement. • Measurement Toolbar (displayed in monitor window) Has buttons related to measurement such as analysis method setting and sample name input. • Spectrum Toolbar (displayed in data processing window) Has buttons related to spectral display such as auto scaling, ruled line indication and spectrum tracing. 1.4.4 Explanation of Tool Buttons 1.4.4
