7 - 1 7. MORE CONVENIENT OPERATING METHODS (APPLICATION PART) 7.1 For Always Starting Up with Same Analysis Method The FL Solutions program can be started with the analysis method specified. Select Tools - Options as in Fig. 7-1. Fig. 7-1 Tools Menu Now select the Startup tab as in Fig. 7-2. Select “Use fixed method” and click Set F-2500 Method when the Model F-2500 is used or Set F-4500 Method when the Model F-4500 is used. Fig. 7-2 Startup Tab 7.1

7 - 3 7.2 Online/Offline Setting of Photometer Connection with the photometer can be set offline. And this connection can be made again. Select the Instrument command from the Tools menu or click the button. The window in Fig. 7-4 appears. This window is for connection with the photometer. Fig. 7-4 Click the instrument name and then the Cut button. The offline status will be set. For online setting, click the Connect button. Initialization will be carried out and the monitor window will appear. 7.2
7 - 4 7.3 Check of Data File Information You can check the conditions under which specific data was measured. For instance, when you want to know the analytical conditions or measurement date of a data file when opening it, specify and right-click the file and select Properties as shown in Fig. 7-5. 7 - 5 On selection of Quick Viewer, a window appears as shown in Fig. 7-7. So a spectrum can be checked. Fig. 7-7 Quick Viewer is usable when extension code is *.fds, *.fdt or *.fd3. The same operation as above can be performed by using Explorer. The information on the open data such as analytical conditions can be checked. Select the Properties (O) command from the Edit (E) menu or click the button. The Info tab contains the date of measurement and the instrument used, and the Scan tab contains measuring conditions such as measuring wavelength, scan speed and slit width. Fig. 7-8 Info Tab 7.3

7 - 7 7.4 Saving of Analysis Method The set analysis method can be saved as a file. So instead of setting the method each time, you can just call out the file for setting. Select the Method command from the Edit menu on monitor window or click the button. Fig. 7-10 When the setting is finished, click Save As and enter a file name. For calling out the saved file, click Load and select the file. 7.4
7 - 8 7.5 Even Log The date/time of lamp exchange and the occurrence of troubles can be recorded in a log. Select Tools - Event Log. Fig. 7-11 The window in Fig. 7-12 shows the occurrence time of communication errors, etc., and user notes. For displaying only errors or only user notes, put a check mark at either item.
